Product Description

You'd think that life as a fairy would be all sunshine and rainbows, almost by default. What could be hard about fairy life? Those little winged people sleep inside flower blossoms, bedazzle leaves with dew drops every morning, and eat mostly raspberries, life is good, right? Nope, actually, fairy life is much more complicated than that. Just like our world, there are distinct hierarchies. Not every fairy can be a dew fairy, some of them have to herd the wood mites or sort acorn caps.

Your girl is wise to the complications of the fairy world. She has her biases towards the fairies with attitude. The one's that can't be fooled, that keep more to themselves. The fairies your daughter is drawn to live in the deep dark forest. These fairies live in the gnarled trees, ride on the back of black beetles, and sleep on beds of moss. The sprites in your daughter's mind have cool jobs, like painting patterns of lichen on forgotten mountain stones, or gathering broken spider webs to make their edgy fairy clothing. She'll feel like she's part of their cohort when she slips on this dark fay ensemble.

Not all magic is sunshine and rainbows, but that doesn't mean it's bad. Your daughter's fairy character takes care of the darker side of nature, like making sure the leaves fall in the autumn. This Halloween is a great time for her to transform into a dark fairy. So let her put on her wings and pose for your camera. It's time the world knew that even fairies can be made of tough stuff.

Cute overall, the dress rises quite a bit due to the elastic, so you have to pull the petticoat up pretty high.

She is so excited with her costume.

It's a great little costume. But remember that's exactly what it is, a costume. If she doesn't grow too much she can probably wear it again next year. However there is one very important point I need to express. The skirt of the dress is extremely sheer and see through, even with the petticoat underneath it. I will be hand stitching the petticoat to the dress as it falls off her. And she will be wearing regular leggings that we are going to rip up so she feels more self-confident and not show anything that shouldn't be shown but still have the "bad" fairy feel and look. One thing she really did not car for was the wings. While cute and sturdy feeling she just didn't like them with the costume. She will be wearing my old extra large wings instead.
