We have Harry Potter costumes for children and adults, as well as costume kits, accessories, and other officially licensed props. Before you know it, you'll be assembling your own Quidditch team and conjuring up your own Patronus. Gather together for a truly magical night when you binge the movies while in costume! Harry Potter Halloween Costumes
The adventure into the Wizarding World usually begins with a trip to Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions (or maybe to the Junk Shop if you need a few hand-me-downs). Fortunately for all of us, Madam Malkin has shared all but her self-ironing patterns so we can help you find the character costume that you've been hunting for! Step into the role of your favorite wizard costume and become one of the iconic characters from the books and films or create your own Halloween wizard!
Harry Potter Costume
Sure, they say that Harry Potter is a children's series and we definitely have some fantastic Gryffindor looks for your little Harry Potter. But imagine the possibilities for you, too! Dab a little white or gray face paint and you can help your little Harry on the way by becoming the ghostly guardians of James and Lily! Of course, it's mostly about the grin on your tyke, right?
Hermione is the teammate who's always prepared and the brightest Gryffindor ever to be sorted to the House. So you'll want to make sure your tyke's Hermione Granger costume is looking just as smart. Thankfully, you've got options. A wig with long and frazzled hair makes your kiddo a young go-getter where a more serious cut shows your kid is a real academic leader!
Harry Potter Costume Adult
The right accessories and pose can really create your wizard character. You might choose an adult Harry Potter robe and forsake the scar for a confident pose. Suddenly, you're a student prefect. They have a little more authority and freedom to cast spells and make potions. Perhaps you'll be the one to help all survive the Death Eaters and show what happens after graduation!
Luna Lovegood Costume
If you really want to show an air of confidence, there's only one House that knows all the tricks of Hogwarts…and only one Ravenclaw that can claim to know even more. Luna Lovegood is a brilliant wizard who shows the world that Gryffindors aren't the only heroes. Rock a Ravenclaw look that would make even Hermione wonder if that brilliant blue isn't just a little bit better!
Exclusive Harry Potter Robes
We live in a world where everyone is waiting for their letter of invitation to Hogwarts. (Heck, most of us would take an acceptance letter from Ilvermorny or even the rainforest school of Castelobruxo!) Unfortunately, those letters are rare and if you haven't received one by now, it probably won’t happen unless the owl got delayed. While you're waiting for that missing invitation, we can offer a different kind of exclusivity that will have you fully prepared for the day. We're happy to offer up Hogwarts Robes that you won't find the like of anywhere else! We're sure you've taken all the quizzes or can feel what the Sorting Hat would say, so it's time to robe up!
Where dwell the brave at heart. Can you hear the Sorting Hat calling you to the House of scarlet and gold, of the lion, of the ferociously nurturing and equal-parts dangerous Minerva McGonagall? Well, garb yourself in the exclusive Gryffindor Robe that will mark you as a member of the house founded by Godric Gryffindor and prepare for the adventure of a lifetime.
Filius Flitwick doesn't stand for idle minds and that's why he and the most knowledgeable wizards in the world join with Rowena Ravenclaw's wittiest of Houses. Getting in isn't easy. Wearing your Ravenclaw Robe certainly helps, but you'll have a riddle to puzzle out, too. Here's one: your colors are blue and bronze in the books, but blue and what for the silver screen?!
If there is one House that knows about exclusivity, it is the one of Salazar Slytherin. Now, the green and silver serpent's House might have created a couple more Dark Wizards in Slytherin Robes than others, but it also created some of the most ambitious and successful wizards in history. Severus Snape and Merlin both had spells that no one else could muster!
Do you think of yourself as a hard-working and down-to-earth kind of spellcaster? Perhaps you want to foster a comfortable den to enrich your life! Well, if badgers are too cute to resist and rich colors like yellow and black bring out your eyes, the House of Helga Hufflepuff is calling your name! Join with Professor Sprout in your Hufflepuff Robe. Bonus: you're next to the kitchen!
Harry Potter Kids Costumes
You can hardly have an amazing Harry Potter themed adventure without a trio of witches and wizards who are ready to make for a magical night. Naturally, Harry and his core friends make for the iconic group, but there are a ton of characters that you could bring in for the fun. (Remember all those awesome Houses to choose from!) We highly recommend that Luna be nearby to give Harry and even Hermione a chance to bring their hairbrained schemes to a deluxe level. After all, this Ravenclaw wonder knows more about the mysteries of the world than all the Gryffindors together!
Hogwarts Houses Breakdown
Oh, the Sorting Hat! Once an object belonging to Godric Gryffindor's, this sentient magical artifact determines which one of the four houses a new student should belong to. The Sorting Hat may be a little, well, aggressive, but he rarely ever makes a mistake when it comes to selecting the perfect house for each student. We can't believe that this rhyming dusty hat is basically a genius, but it is! For instance, when the Sorting Hat was placed upon Harry's head, he kept repeating the name, 'Gryffindor,' over and over again. The Sorting Hat took that into consideration when deliberating, and surprisingly, Harry was able to call Gryffindor his House! If the talking hat was placed on top of your head, what house name would you whisper? Would you tell the Sorting Hat to shout out the name Hufflepuff or do you think your characteristics are better suited for the Ravenclaw House? Whatever house is most appealing to you, we sell decorative banners so you can represent the house the Sorting Hat would call out for you. Hang it up and you can pretend that you're a part of Harry's wizarding world!
Do you fancy yourself to be daring and chivalrous? If you think you have what it takes to hang out with Harry, Hermione, and Ron and battle trolls and other dark forms of magic, then the Gryffindor House just may be the one for you. Your House crest would be the lion because lions symbolize courage and strength, while your house colors would be gold and red, so we hope that you look good in those colors! Represent your Hogwart's House by hanging this Gryffindor banner in your office, den, or bedroom. You'll love the jagged edges on the banner and how convenient it is to hang just about anywhere. It does take a brave soul to wave this banner loud and proud, because if a Death Eater sees, you just may be in for a duel. Remember, a good Gryffindor knows to always keep their wand close-by!
Are you hoping that the Sorting Hat shouts out the silly word, Hufflepuff, once it has deciphered your place at Hogwarts? You'll only be admitted to this house if you're hard working, dedicated, patient, loyal, and of course, friendly. Hufflepuffs are always smiling and they could care less about who wins the Triwizard Tournament because competition just isn't their thing. They are represented by the badger and their house colors are yellow and black, which is what this cool banner depicts. If you are confident that you possess all the required Hufflepuff characteristics, then we think you should hang this officially licensed banner in your home office. You'll love how realistic it looks and it will add a touch of Hogwarts to any room, in fact you can make any room look like the Hufflepuff Common Room, which is awesome. Hang up this banner proudly and quickly, so you can head to the greenhouse and help the Head of your House, Pomona Sprout and pull up Mandrakes. Those little plants can scream loudly so cover your ears if you have to!
You know what the founder of Ravenclaw liked to say? 'Wit beyond measure is man's greatest treasure.' Students from Ravenclaw are particularly intelligent, wise, creative, logical, and extremely clever. In fact, the Sorting Hat was seriously considering placing Hermione into Ravenclaw because of her intelligence and all the smartest witches and wizards are put into this house. If you consider yourself to be quite the genius, then you'll love waving this Ravenclaw banner with pride. Some famous Ravenclaw members include Moaning Myrtle, Gilderoy Lockhart, Sybil Trelawney, and the eccentric Luna Lovegood, so you'll be in good company! This cool home decoration features a large raven on top of a blue background, which is the Ravenclaw house crest. We recommend hanging this officially licensed banner on the door of any room in your house or apartment. You can make any guest who wishes to enter figure out a riddle in order to get in, just like the Ravenclaw common room!
Sure, some muggles and wizards associate Slytherins with the Dark Arts, but Slytherin has actually bred a lot of talented wizards, (not including He Who Should Not Be Named). Students who are sorted into this house need to possess resourcefulness and ambition, while also exhibiting behavior that is extremely cunning. Of course, most of the wizards who are admitted into Slytherin come from a long line of pure-bred wizards, but the Sorting Hat has been known to let some half-bloods into the house, too. For example, Severus Snape and the infamous Tom Marvolo Riddle were half-bloods. If you feel like you would excel the best in this magical house, then you'll love this Slytherin banner, featuring a serpent and a green background. Hang it up with pride indoors or display it in a window of your house, just be prepared for muggle-born wizards to associate you with the Death Eaters. Just shrug it off, and let them know that you're a Slytherin not because of your pureblood association, but because you speak parseltongue like a champ and you're very cunning and ambitious.
Harry Potter Costume Accessories
Witches and wizards seem to have the coolest gadgets. They get to snack on the coolest treats like chocolate frogs that come to life and flavored jelly beans that can taste like anything...and we mean anything! They also get to experiment with Polyjuice potions and other cool items like Time Turners and Invisibility Cloaks. Of course, we wish that these objects were available in our muggle-world, but the sad reality is that we are just not magical enough to conjure up these creations. However, we were able to create accessories and props that look similar to the ones that Harry and his friends often use. Take a look at these cool items and use them to make your outfit a little bit more magical. You could also pair any of the items with your Harry Potter themed costume. Take a peek at these sweet accessories to see if you need to add one of them, or all of them, to your bewitching look!
It's true that Luna is a little, well, strange but she's also a phenomenal witch who put her life on the line to help Harry and his friends defeat Lord Voldemort and the Death Eaters. If you want to dress up as the one and only Luna Lovegood, then we urge you to add these spectre specs to your costume. In the movies and books, Luna's wacky glasses that she got for free in an issue of The Quibbler, allowed her to see wrackspurts. According to Luna, wrackspurts are invisible creatures that float through one's ears causing their brain to go fuzzy, so she wears the colorful spectacles so she can detect the tiny pests. Pairing this accessory with your costume will give it some authority and other Potter fans will pay you compliments for wearing these cool glasses. If you happen to see any wrackspurts floating through the air, please let us know!
Everything in Harry's world is more magical than in the muggle world. Even their scarves are better than the ones we get to wear...that is, until now. When Harry is strolling through Hogsmeade Village with his pals, he's bundled up in his cold-weather accessories and he looks surprisingly stylish. Being stylish is really not something Mr. Potter is known for, but the famous wizard looks undeniably fashionable when he's wearing a long Gryffindor scarf. Now you can look just as dashing when you're strolling through your home village because you can wear a Gryffindor scarf too. Almost identical to the one Harry has wrapped around his neck, this officially licensed scarf is scarlet with gold stripes, and also features a Gryffindor House crest patch. Wear this scarf with a costume or with your winter coat so you have a little piece of Hogwarts with you wherever you go. You can even top off your look with a matching hat!
Harry Potter Sorting Hat
We often wish that we could be first years, entering Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, full of wonder and excitement. We think about what it would be like for Albus Dumbledore to call our names so we could sit in front of the whole school and have the Sorting Hat placed on our heads. We hope that the hat would shout out, 'Gryffindor,' but it could very easily place us into the Slytherin House. Now, you can have your own Sorting Ceremony in the comfort of your own home! This Sorting Hat looks exactly like the one in the Harry Potter movies. It is made to look old, so it is stitched up with patches. If you look closely, you can also see that a face is indented into the fabric. However, it doesn't speak. It looks like you're going to have to use your imagination if you want to make this Sorting Hat come to life!
Maybe you're not into sports so much, but if you're anything like us you would give literally anything to play in a Quidditch game. We daydream about becoming our team's top Seeker, catching the golden Snitch, winning the game, and hearing all of Hogwarts cheer for us. Now our dreams (and most likely your dreams too) can come true! This officially licensed Harry Potter broomstick resembles the Nimbus 2000, but we hear that it's actually faster than the Nimbus 2001! You'll love showing off the gold wing accessories attached to the back and the detailed broom handle. You'll make all the other House Seeker jealous when you zoom by, dodging Bludgers on this beautiful broom. You can use this cool prop as a decoration in your house or you can really meet up with some other Potter fans at a park and get a game of Quidditch going. We have a feeling that you'll be the standout star of the game when you wiz past the other players on your shiny new broomstick!
Love Your Look in Harry Potter Costumes
When you're at Hogwarts, magical things abound, but there's nothing more magical than getting together with family and friends for a bit of spellcasting. We know that you love the Wizarding World. That means when you're getting into costume, we want to make sure that you truly love your look, too! The best way to do that is to unite with your wizard friends and family and take some spectacular pictures that will last just as long as the great memories that you're about to conjure. (You can even share them with your Muggle friends who won't be the wiser.) You're sure to get even more likes than Dumbledore's randomly granted bonus points to Gryffindor! (Just remember: they won't move about on their own unless you set your phone to make some animated GIFs…which we highly recommend.)
Harry Potter and Friends
Naturally, being with the right people is the most important part of a perfect picture. But the setting is crucial for a grand adventure in the Wizarding World. (And striking the proper pose is at least a close third.) Find something like an old forest or very ancient-looking structures made of stone to get that Hogwarts look. Posing is easy—wands out and remember to say Patronus!
Hermione Granger Costume Close Up
Perhaps you'd like to offer up some of that first-day anxiety. What House will you be sent to?! Is it true that you get an opinion on the matter? Hermione was certainly a little unsure in her time with the Sorting Hat. Gather up your wizarding crew and take a snapshot of their joyful (or worried) expressions when their houses are proudly proclaimed. (Just get the robes ready!)
Harry Potter Costume Ideas
One of the best parts of the Wizarding World is that the stories just keep coming. Just look at how little Harry Potter grew up! Yep, becoming all your favorite characters from your favorite houses from your favorite books is not only easy, but you can keep doing it well into adulthood. Just remember that all adult wizards are always sophisticated and…oh, Luna Lovegood!
Ready for Hogwarts
So once you've got the new year's students ready for the most magical time in memory, you've got to introduce everyone together. The Professors need to recognize their future students and even the ghosts and living paintings need to know who is who! You can't expect McGonagall to look up names in her book and we know how Hagrid handles his! That's right. It's picture time!
