Horror Clue: A Whodunit Like No Other

Classic board games like Clue, Monopoly and Candyland have been getting face-lifts by pairing them with beloved movies and television series. Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory Candyland and Doc McStuffins Operation are examples of variations on these board games that make complete sense. Clue, originally Cluedo, is another iconic board game, and it is celebrating its 70th anniversary this year! Like many of the other classic board games, Clue also has various alternate versions. (Granted, some make more sense than others!) The original game of Clue revolves around a group of would-be murderers, a mansion with various rooms and a handful of potential weapons. We decided to design our dream version of Clue, and what would be better than a haunted mansion filled with iconic horror movie villains?

40 years ago, John Carpenter’s Halloween debuted and became an instant horror masterpiece. Aside from only one prominent actor (Donald Pleasence), the film featured several Hollywood newcomers. One of whom was Jamie Lee Curtis playing the role of Laurie Strode aka the original Final Girl (You can read more about "final girls" here). The film also introduced Michael Myers, one of the most terrifying horror villains of all time. As with any movie that achieves box office success, the producers opted for a sequel.

Horror Hockey Masks: 12 Goalie Masks Inspired by Horror Movie Villains

We've finally reached October and Halloween will be arriving sooner than you think! Along with the greatest holiday ever, there is plenty to look forward to in the Autumn months. Things like sweatshirt weather, apple cider, pumpkin spice everything, and watching as many horror movies as possible in the days leading up to October 31st. Every year brings a brand new batch of horror movies, some good and some bad, to add to the neverending list of options to choose from. However, the most popular horror movies to binge watch tend to the be the franchises that feature iconic villains. One of the reasons is because there's so many of them. If a horror movie is successful and has a good villain, they will totally make more. This year alone, we've seen a reboot of Pennywise in the latest adapation of Stephen King's IT. 2017 has also seen or will see new entries from horror franchises including Child's Play, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and Saw (which is getting it's eighth film release!).
