
It's difficult to pick one thing that summarizes 2020 for the year. Still, with all of the ups and downs that this year has brought, we make the most of being able to celebrate together. 4th of July fireworks in the driveway, hunting for Easter eggs and making cards for our moms and dads are some of the ways we may have celebrated. Halloween is also going to look a little different in 2020, but one of the fondest traditions can't be canceled: pumpkin carving!

There's nothing more impressive than a good DIY Halloween costume. With so many cookie-cutter costumes out there, taking the time to make or even assemble something different can make people say "WOW! Why didn't I think of that?" You may still need to buy accessories like shoes, belts and gloves, but it's great to see people wearing a Halloween costume that's exactly what they wanted. Maybe you're a fan of the unidentified alien that was cut from the Mos Eisley cantina scene. Perhaps you wanted to bring your favorite board game character to life, like Ms. Scarlet from Clue. The calendar year is absolutely filled with minor holidays that we often giggle about, but don't really take the time to celebrate. Take your teddy bear to work day, leave a zucchini on your neighbor's porch day and other officially unofficial holidays haven't found enough traction to be more than a silly Instagram or Twitter post. However, Galentine's Day is different. Celebrated on February 13th, the day before Valentine's Day, Galentine's Day celebrates women and their gal pals. There have been several strong female characters in comic books for more than 50 years, but they just haven't gotten the same love as their male counterparts. The fact that Wonder Woman debuted in Comics in 1941 and won't have her own feature film in theaters until 2018 is downright ridiculous. She will, however, be making her big screen debut in 2016's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and this has been generating some hype around women superheroes and women characters from comics in general.
