Did you know that the word “leopard” is a hybrid of Greek words for “lion” and “panther”? That’s because long ago people believed that the leopard was itself a hybrid of those two big cats. Unlikely though it seems today, we can sort of see where they were coming from. The leopard’s stunning coat of golden fur with black spots certainly seems like some kind of mashup gone incredibly right.

Of course, nowadays we know that the leopard’s unique coloration is mostly for camouflage purposes, with the pale fur and dappled spots allowing the cat to sneak through tall grass and forests without being easily, well, spotted, if you’ll pardon the pun. That’s all well and good for the animals themselves, but humans being humans, we can’t help imagining how those majestic creatures might look if their camouflage was a little less effective. Suppose a leopard had the same spotted pattern, for instance, but with bright pink fur. It would be quite a sight to see, although it would probably make tracking down dinner a little bit harder for the poor leopards.

But hey, we can dream, can’t we? And if you dream in day-glo animal prints, have we got a costume for you. This polyester/spandex stretch-knit jumpsuit is a vision in bright pink, covered top to bottom in a striking leopard print pattern. The sewn-on tail is stuffed with a wire running through it for full posability, while a pair of cat ears on a fabric-covered headband add a cute touch up top. A satin choker includes a pink plastic heart pendant. (We wouldn’t necessarily recommend trying to put a pet collar on an actual leopard, but again, this is all about playing pretend.)
