Jason is a copywriter at and he usually likes to pick a costume from the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros or from the Star Wars universe. Last year he was Daenerys Targaryen, and this year he'd very much like to be an AT-ST Walker (to finally get some revenge on those Ewoks). When he's not rewatching Game of Thrones or obsessing over canonical points in the new Star Wars flicks, he enjoys going to concerts, politicking, and rambling through remote forested regions of the country in search of Bigfoot.

These 4th of July Outfits and Costumes will Make You Feel Perfectly Patriotic

The 4th of July. Independence Day. The day that America celebrates its inception. You probably have a few grill-outs and get-togethers lined up. Maybe plans for parades, boating, or a concert, or any other number of awesome activities. But at the bare minimum, we’re sure you at least have plans to watch the big fireworks show at night. With a full day of activities, though, we have to ask…do you have your outfit picked out? And have you ever considered really—really—showing off your patriotism by rocking some 4th of July apparel or a USA costume?

Alien Heights Infographic

Ever wonder how your favorite alien species from pop culture stack up against each other? We like to imagine just what would go down if they would happen to cross franchises and go toe-to-toe with a species from another movie or TV series. Like, what would happen if Alf waltzed onto the set of Sesame Street and started sizing up Gonzo? (Hint: Alf has the height advantage.) Or what if old school sci-fi aliens faced off, like The Man from Planet X versus the mutant from This Island Earth? We're not sure what would be the bigger advantage, the glass helmet or super-sized brain!? And when it comes to the action packed sci-fi on the big screen, there's all kinds of heavy duty - and terrifying - creatures that could ruin anyone's day. The arachnid bugs from Starship Troopers, the terrifying xenomorphs from Alien, the rancor from Return of the Jedi, or even the the straight up meanies from ID4... well, we hope we never come to face to face with something the likes of them.

X-Men Throwback: The Superheroes Then & Now

So we're just a few weeks away from X-Men: Apocalypse hitting the theaters. The second sequel to the X-Men First Class series, which was introduced in 2011, will mark the ninth overall installment in the X-Men films. It's safe to say that we are eagerly anticpating finding out just what will happen to the X-Men when the movie finally drops. Will Apocalypse and his four horseman destroy the fledgling X-Men and rule the world? Or will Professor Charles Xavier and Raven be able to lead their ragtag band of mutants to once again save the world from doom??

We can't wait to find out, but in the interim, we've just having a ton of fun geeking out on everything X related. We were blown away when Empire magazine featured 9 collectible Apocalypse covers in their May 2016 issue, so we decided to assemble the cover collage that highlights the new costume looks and then recreate the design using artwork from our own stacks of vintage comics. With art that shows what the iconic characters looked like in titles such as The Uncanny X-Men, New Mutants, and X-Factor, you can use these interactive slider images to make an in-depth comparision of what each character looks like in 2016 compared to how they appeared in vintage...

Wonder Woman Costumes: The Evolution of a Superheroine [Infographic]

The Evolution of Wonder Woman

With Gal Gadot taking to the silver screen in 2016 as Wonder Woman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, it's safe to say the Amazing Amazonian is going to have a big year. With her own standalone feature slated for 2017, we might even be entering a new golden era of Wonder Woman. But before we plunge into brand new Wonder Woman cinematic adventures, we thought it'd be a good idea to revisit her look over the years throughout comics, TV, and pop culture. From her first comic book appearance in All Star Comics #8 in 1941, right up to the modern era with New 52, the animated DC Super Hero Girls shorts, and her upcoming appearance in the new movie, we've compiled each of her costumes here in this comprehensive infographic. Take a gander and brush up on some of her classic, vintage, and modern costumes!

Star Wars Costume Evolution: Republic Edition [Infographic]

Far Far Away Fashion - Republic Edition.jpg

Since our first edition of Far Far Away Fashion was so well received, the wait for a follow up might have been less than enjoyable (but still better than waiting for The Force Awakens to come out). Well, the wait is over (one of the waits, anyway...) and we're happy to present to you this Republic Edition costume guide! Straight from George Lucas's Star Wars prequels, we have broken down some of your favorite characters' main costumes.

There was a serious debate over which of Padme's 12 gazillion costume changes to include, but we tried to pick out the most memorable fashion moments. With Anakin and Obi-Wan included for good measure, we have the looks of your three favorite heroes of the Republic. Well...heroes per se. That whole Darth Vader thing with Anakin is still a bit hard to swallow.  (How did the little Ani who won our hearts with his Podracing exploits turn out to be the worst villain of all time??) You can use this infographic to check out his transformation, and it's a great way to study up on the rest of your favorite prequel looks, too!
