
So I ran across a funny story in the news: a restaurant in Edmonton, Alberta paid more than CA$16,000 for a donair costume. The CBC reports that the costume "comes complete with shaved meat, sauce, tomatoes, onions—and, somewhat controversially, lettuce". Bidding for the costume began at CA$50 in July.
Now I'm going to suggest—not controversially, I hope—that you don't need to spend thousands of dollars when you could get our burrito costume for a tiny fraction of that....

So we've been chatting about The Last of Us while watching the new season of Dropout's Um, Actually and the subject of zombies came up. You're probably well aware that zombies have been a huge theme in pop culture for the past decade or so, whether or not they're actually called "zombies". You've got your "living dead", your "walking dead", and your "ghouls". But plenty of fiction includes creatures that are similar to zombies but are generally considered something else. How realistic are they? Could their apocalyptic scenarios happen? And what makes them "not actually zombies"? Let's get into that.
