A walking pile of hay with a need for a brain and a flair for interpretive dance.” Good news: the Men’s Wizard of Oz Scarecrow Costume is here to help you live your best brainless fantasy—complete with a diploma to prove you tried. He’s the most loveable klutz in Oz, and now? He’s you.
If you’re skipping down the Yellow Brick Road or just trying to make it through a Wizard of Oz costume party without tangling yourself in your own limbs, this officially licensed look has everything you need to say, “Hey, I may be stuffed with straw, but I’m emotionally available.”
Design & Details
The olive green shirt features a sewn-in rope belt and straw-like raffia at the cuffs for that freshly-fallen-off-the-fencepost vibe. It fastens at the neck with hook and loop strips, which is fancy scarecrow speak for “no buttons, no brain strain.” The brown pants have an elastic waistband (comfort: achieved) and decorative patches that say, “I’ve been through it.”
Top it all off with the soft burlap-look hood and pointy brown hat with a rope band, because nothing says “thought leader” like a cone on your head. And yes, you’ll receive your very own diploma—a cardboard scroll tied with a red ribbon that proves you’ve got the brains (or at least fake documentation).

Height 6'0" | Weight 160 | Size MediumI got many compliments on this costume. It works well and is not scratchy. The burlap head/neck cover started unraveling at one seam the second time I wore it but that sort of added to the scarecrow look. Pair it with a pair of leather gardening gloves and some work boots and you're good to go. If you're over 5'11" I'd say make sure you order up a size, as the pants aren't very long. I'm 6'0" and thin and the Medium fit well except for the length of the pants, where it was sort of short, but that's disguised pretty well by the fake straw at the bottom of the pants. The sleeves were super long but adjustable with the wrist ties so that worked great.
