The data is in. We’ve analyzed all the searches on HalloweenCostumes.com (that’s us!) and we’re able to project the top costumes of the year. But we also found some surprising searches that stood out from the rest. South Dakota and Wyoming really love their mummies, for example. (Who doesn’t?) And Montana is really into dinosaurs and Princess Peach. (That’s legit.) Keep in mind that these may not be the trending costumes in each state, just searches that were disproportionately higher than the national average. The Evolution of Black Panther

52 years ago in Fantastic Four #52, Black Panther debuted as the first black superhero in mainstream American comic books. His alter ego is T’Challa, head of the Panther Tribe and king of Wakanda, a fictional African nation in the Marvel Comics universe. T'Challa was married to Storm of the X-Men for six years and, as Black Panther, fought alongside the Fantastic Four and the Avengers. The character was never as well-known as these Marvel Comics heavyweights, but that appears to be changing. Actor Chadwick Boseman was lauded for his performance as T'Challa in Captain America: Civil War, and the Black Panther solo movie is setting records for advance ticket sales.

The Evolution of Thor [Infographic]

The Evolution of Thor

Marvel superhero Thor debuted in 1962, primarily the work of artist Jack Kirby, editor Stan Lee, and scripter (and Lee’s brother) Larry Lieber. While the original costume that they designed (blue armor, red cape, and silver winged helmet) is considered a classic at this point, it’s certainly not the only one Thor has worn over the past 55 years. In this infographic, we show how Thor’s appearance has evolved through many comic trends, while often calling back to archetypal features like his cape or winged helmet. We’ll also take a look at some other characters who were worthy of wielding Mjolnir, whether they were called by the name “Thor” (like Jane Foster) or simply gained his powers (Beta Ray Bill and Throg). So let’s cross the Bifrost Bridge into Asgard and see how Thor has evolved!
