Did you know that, when it comes to Crayola’s long and colorful (geddit?) history, even the color “Blue” hasn’t stayed the same?
The crayon which the company named “Blue” when Crayola first got its start in 1903 was not the same “Blue” by the 1930s. It was given a new name, which no longer exists today, and “Blue” became a brighter shade of the color! Confused? It’s okay! Up until a few years ago, no one - not even Crayola - had recorded a full history of their crayons. Then Ed Welter, a former Nike project manager from Oregon and a devoted collector, decided to take up the project, and it even took him a whole eight months to piece together Crayola’s blue color timeline and history (14 years of collecting to piece together Crayola’s entire color history, which, as it turns out, is absurdly complicated!) which he described to The Huffington Post as “complex” and, pun intended, “colorful.”
So when you wear this fun, colorful Tween Sky Blue Crayon Dress, you’re not just stirring up childhood nostalgia (was there anything better than opening up and using that brand new, fresh box of Crayola crayons?), you’re also representing a fascinating part of American art and industry history! Made of 100% polyester, this officially licensed costume features ties in the back for a fitted appearance and it even comes with a poly-foam headpiece! And we’ve got a ton of different colors to choose from, so get all of your friends together for the funnest, coolest Halloween group costume around!
