Halloween is an incredibly social holiday, one where you put on parties and gather with family, friends, co-workers, and the like. Sometimes, you even attend several parties so everyone can experience the holiday fun in their own way! Maybe you're taking the kids to a friend's Halloween party filled with candy and games. Perhaps you're looking forward to a watch party with other adults. But if you're searching for a selection of spooky-themed cocktails for your next adult Halloween party or AHS watch party, give a few of these American Horror Story-themed drinks a try! We made recipes to match each season, from Murder House to Double Feature, so you can have a scary good time.

American Horror Story: Murder House

Murder House Cocktail Recipe

"I have long stopped wondering why the mad do mad things."

 

Drink: Murder House

Ingredients:

  • 1 ounce coffee liqueur
  • 1 ounce white rum
  • Ice cubes
  • Dash of grenadine syrup
  • Red food coloring (optional)

Directions:

Pour coffee liqueur and white rum into glass. Add ice cubes. Slowly pour a dash of grenadine syrup to make the ice cubes look bloody. If that isn't red enough, add a drop or two of red food coloring.

 

American Horror Story: Asylum

Asylum Cocktail Recipe

"All monsters are human."

 

Drink: The White Nun

Ingredients:

  • 1 ounce vodka
  • 1 ounce half & half
  • 1 ounce crème de cacao
  • Dark chocolate syrup (or milk/fudge if preferred)
  • Ice cubes

Directions:

Fill cocktail shaker with crushed ice. Pour vodka, half & half and crème de cacao into shaker. Shake well and strain into glass. Finish with chocolate syrup around the rim, allowing it to drip down the sides.

The Supreme Cocktail Recipe

"This coven doesn't need a new supreme; it needs a new rug."

 

Drink: The Supreme

Ingredients:

  • 1 ounce coffee liqueur
  • 1 ounce ginger beer
  • 2 ounces cream de cassis or black raspberry liqueur
  • 3 ounces vodka
  • Ice
  • 1/2 teaspoon activated charcoal (optional)
  • Blackberries (garnish)

Directions:

Pour coffee liqueur, cream de cassis, vodka, and activated charcoal (optional) into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake well and strain into a martini glass. Add a splash of ginger beer and garnish with blackberries.

Freak Show Cocktail Recipe

Drink: Twisty Treat

Ingredients:

  • 4 ounces pineapple juice
  • 1 ounce whipped vodka
  • Ice
  • 1 scoop vanilla ice cream
  • Whipped cream
  • Maraschino cherry (garnish)

Directions:

Fill half a cocktail shaker with ice. Add pineapple juice and vodka. Shake well and strain into glass. Add vanilla ice cream, then whipped cream, and garnish with maraschino cherry. 

 

American Horror Story: Hotel

Hotel Cocktail Recipe

"You see everything when the world doesn't see you."

 

Drink Name: The Countess

Ingredients:

  • 3 ounces cranberry juice
  • 2 ounces raspberry vodka
  • 2 ounces raspberry liqueur
  • Ice

Directions:

Chill a martini glass. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add remaining ingredients. Shake well and strain into martini glass.

 

American Horror Story: Roanoke

Roanoke Cocktail Recipe

"Alcohol is the secret sauce to reality shows!"

 

Drink: The Lost Colony

Ingredients:

  • 2 ounces whiskey
  • 3/4 ounce dry vermouth
  • 1/2 ounce cardamom clove simple syrup
  • 1/2 ounce fresh lime juice
  • 1 egg white
  • Ice
  • Fresh thyme (garnish)

Directions:

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add simple syrup, whiskey, vermouth, and lime juice. Shake well and strain into another cocktail shaker without ice. Add egg white and shake well. Pour into glass with a large ice cube and garnish with thyme.

Drink: Send in the Clowns

Ingredients:

  • 3 ounces fresh-squeezed orange juice
  • 2 ounces agave tequila (blanco or silver)
  • 1 ounce fresh-squeezed lime juice
  • 1 ounce orange liqueur
  • 1/4 - 1/2 ounces simple syrup (to taste)
  • Orange slices or peels (garnish)
  • Ice

Directions:

Rim a glass with salt. Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker. Shake well and pour into glass. Garnish with orange peels or orange slices.

 

American Horror Story: Apocalypse

Apocalypse Cocktail Recipe

"Welcome to Outpost Three."

 

Drink: Outpost 3

Ingredients:

  • 2 ounces whiskey
  • Cola
  • 8 blackberries
  • Ice

Directions:

Add blackberries to glass and muddle them. Add whiskey and ice to glass, then a splash of cola.

 

American Horror Story: 1984

1984 Cocktail Recipe

"Don't feel like you have to change to fit into the world."

 

Drink: Campfire Carnage

Ingredients:

  • 1 packet instant hot chocolate mix
  • 1 ounce marshmallow vodka
  • 1 ounce bourbon
  • 1/4 ounce caramel syrup
  • Hot water
  • Mini marshmallows (garnish)

Directions:

Follow directions on packet to make hot chocolate. Add vodka, bourbon, and caramel syrup. Stir and garnish with marshmallows.

 

American Horror Story: Double Feature

Double Feature Cocktail Recipe

"There's nothing more addictive than success. You've tasted it now—you're never going to be able to live without it."

 

Drink: The Muse

Ingredients:

  • 2 ounces strawberry lemonade
  • 2 ounces Viniq Ruby
  • 1 ounce peach schnapps
  • 1 ounce tropical punch vodka
  • 1 ounce cinnamon whiskey
  • 1 ounce moonshine
  • 1 ounce peach vodka
  • 2 drops black food coloring
  • Lemon-lime soda

Directions:

In a glass, mix strawberry lemonade, Viniq Ruby, peach schnapps, and tropical punch vodka. In a cocktail shaker, mix cinnamon whiskey, moonshine, peach vodka, and black food coloring, and shake well. Carefully pour the black cocktail shaker mixture over the red glass mixture. To keep the layers separate, it may help to use an upside-down spoon in the glass, moving it up the side as you pour. Top with a splash of lemon-lime soda.
