Most of the people we know can't breathe in the water. (Bob from customer service claims he can, but that's a whole other story). But what if you wanted to look like you could? This scuba-style mask uses your smartphone to create the illusion of water filling your mask and fish swimming around in it.
And what's cooler than being able to show off your skills at a party? Nothing. If you look like you can swim with the fish (in a good way) you'll be noticed by everyone you meet.
This molded latex mask covers the entire head and neck so you get a classic diver look that provides full coverage. There's a vision slot just below where the phone pocket is so you can see clearly while your smartphone does all of the work just above your eyes. Once you get the mask, you can download a free app that shows the swimming fish. Once you pull up the screen, place the smartphone in the appropriate pocket for a funny look that is sure to get everyone's attention this Halloween. I bought the mask from another merchant but since there were no reviews on the internet when I wanted to purchase it, I thought I'dd help customers who might want to buy it by creating a review wherever I find it to be sold.
I created a DIY tank and bought the mask to complete my scuba costume.
The mask is full latex with a rectangular sponge glued inside(top), aiding in the mask keeping its shape as you wear it on your head.
There are several holes designed for air access which can barely be noticed.
On the first try, you might feel that the latex smell is too strong; I contemplated washing it with cold water but I was lazy so I let it air out and it did the job for me.
The phone enclosure is quite big and you can easily fit a larger phone in there(Samsung S10/Iphone XS). If you have a smaller phone, as I did(Samsung S5) that will also work as the pocket is nicely built with a sponge behind it to aid in possible friction/movement of the head preventing it from moving. Any possible fall is also stopped by the latex closing in nicely after you put the phone in. The phone size does not affect the effects of the app.
I wore the mask with glasses, as expected it can get steamy inside at one point, but I had brakes from wearing it and all went well.
The view space is quite small, I had somebody help me walk as I made my fabulous entrance but you get used to the view in time. Watch out for steps :)
