Slimer worked great. Very cool decoration for about a week.
Normal batteries drained in about a day. Went through six before moving onto lithium batteries. Those lasted at least four days. Then the but happened, rain day. Slimer is not water tight. It had lots of water in it and stopped working. Replacement batteries did not fix the issue. Some of the screws have also started to rust. It’s only been up for about a week at this point.
I dumped out a couple of inches of water.
Hoping it will eventually dry out and start working again. Then will cover the speaker and battery box with clear tape to block out what looks like the entry point.

As a child of the 80’s, Ghostbusters was one of my favorites, so naturally I was excited to get this. When it arrived, I knew the batteries Would need to be changed often. It’s been up for two days now and have not had any issues, although unless the line is tight enough for a tightrope walker, the bouncing does throw off movement, and we have been blessed with no rain the past few days, So I have not seen how waterproof it is.
Based on some of the reviews I’ve seen, I may try to modify it to protect it from the rain a bit.
One key improvement I think could be made to this is to have it solar powered. I’ve converted some battery powered skeletons and lights to solar, but have not tried that for an animatronic yet.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Slimer came fully assembled and just missing batteries to get going. Extremely easy to set up between two trees and he was off and running. Spins around and wobbles while making noises reminiscent of the original movie. Instructions do clearly state that it shouldn't be left in the rain (most of the animatronics we've gotten say they are for covered outdoor use only so it isn't surprising). and it only takes a minute or two to put up and take down. Great product! It is bright and the sound is loud enough to hear. It is sound activated, so loud cars going by would activate it. We have to clap pretty close to it to get it to activate. Recently we had a bunch of storms, so it did take on some water which weighed it down on the line. We turned it over and drained the water out. The battery pack was air tight, so no water got in there which is great. I would recommend this to anyone! The only wish that I would have is that you could turn him on with a timer feature, so he would work constantly when it's dark outside. I have purchased many amazing things from halloweencostumes.com over the years and will continue to do so, but for the price, this one falls short I'm afraid. I read every FAQ and review. Line as taught as possible without breaking.... Perfectly level,,,, No wind or other outside forces... There is simply no way to keep it from bouncing, which causes it to stop, reverse direction, etc. Not once have I had it go from end to end successfully, I truly do not believe there is anything wrong with it. I agree with many commenters that there are simply inherent design flaws that prevent it from working as the designers intended. One additional nit... Volume. If you are using this inside you have to turn the sound off. The line is level and tight. As he moves he bounces. The bouncing builds up and he turns around. He moves less than three feet.
