A Slimy Spectacle

It all started in Sedgewick Hotel. Rumors are that if you wandered down the halls above the 12th floor, you'd encounter the sounds first. Snacking and slurping echoed through the rooms as the strange, green goober devoured everything that room service had to offer! Now, some say that the Ghostbusters took care of this hungry guy while other stories suggest that Slimer joined the team and became a critical component of the ghostbusting crew.

We really can't say which story is true. That's why we're just looking for a new den for Slimer to call home. We do have some good news, though. Turns out that he's not nearly as "slimy" as his name suggests. That means you can enjoy his delightful haunting without the need to give any housekeepers a call!

Design & Details

Bring the very best in Ghostbusters decor home when you deck out your den with this Life Size Slimer Prop Replica from Ghostbusters. This prestigious bit of movie memorabilia is bigger than life and designed to look just like the classic "onion head ghost" seen on the set of the classic film. Standing at about three feet tall, this is one ghost that is sure to draw attention from your friends. Questions & Answers
Q: Can this be mounted on a wall? (1 Answer)
Asked by Anonymous | September 21, 2026
Monster Responds...
Our information covers how Slimer stands and poses but doesn't include wall-mounting instructions or hardware. The figure is soft foam rubber, stands 30 inches tall, and the arms attach magnetically, so there's no built-in mounting point we can point you to. A foam-friendly adhesive strip or a custom bracket could work, but we'd recommend checking with a hardware store on the best approach for foam rubber before committing.

Q: Hello,
I purchased this item a few years ago, and I love it!!! I do have a question about care. I dust him but I would like to know about some other cleaning/care options. Is there anything I could buy to help keep the dust out or a type of sealer I could use? (1 Answer)
Asked by TJ | August 31, 2025
Monster Responds...
So glad you're still loving Slimer after all these years! Since he's made of soft foam rubber, a light wipe with a slightly damp cloth works well for surface grime, and keeping him out of direct sunlight will help preserve the color and prevent the foam from drying out over time. For dust prevention, a display case or a breathable fabric cover when he's not on display is your best bet, as foam rubber doesn't take well to spray sealers, which can cause it to break down or become tacky.

Q: Can this be used outside or is this an indoor item only? (1 Answer)
Asked by Sabrina | July 18, 2024
Monster Responds...
Hello, this is more of an indoor prop that isn't meant to be outside in the rain or elements that much.
Answer
Q: Hiya. Do you have any real photos of this (as opposed to the glossy press shot type things) and can you tell me roughly what it weighs?
Thanks (1 Answer)
Asked by Anonymous | June 30, 2023
Monster Responds...
The photos we have are the ones shown on this page, so those are what we've got to work with. On the weight question, we don't have that detail to share. What we can tell you is that Slimer is made from soft foam rubber and stands 30 inches tall, so he's a lightweight material by nature.

Hello Laurent! We don't have any information about a limited production run for this Slimer prop. What we can tell you is that it's a HalloweenCostumes.com exclusive, officially licensed, and stands 30 inches tall, so if you love it, grabbing one sooner rather than later is always a good idea!

Q: Hi. I just recieved slimer and he is awesome. I do have a question about his arms. Are they able to bend at all. Seems like in your picture add they are bent but they came straight. I tried to put a little force to see if they bend but wouldnt budge and i dont want to break the foam. (1 Answer)
Asked by Anonymous | December 18, 2021
Monster Responds...
The arms do bend at the elbows where the wrinkles are. The trick is to use the edge of a table to apply pressure at that spot rather than trying to flex them by hand.

G'day! Slimer is made of soft foam rubber, which gives him that highly detailed, life-size look while keeping him lightweight and poseable. His arms even bend at the elbows and attach to his body with magnets, so you can get him into all kinds of great display poses.

    Great slimer!
    By jenni estraca  | October 19, 2026
Opted for the stationary slimer instead of the animatronic and so glad I did. I love his details. He was a great addition to our display. I know he is recommend for indoor use but we have had him outside since the 1st now and have not noticed any fading or discoloration. He is hollow on the bottom so we flipped a bucket and mounted the bucket to a piece of wood to give him something to sit over and not move around. Would definitely recommend him!!

Best looking lifesize Slimer on the market
    By Michael  | December 23, 2021
This ugly little spud is HUGE weighing in at 30lbs. Beautifully painted and detailed made by Distortions Unlimited but sold exclusively on HalloweenCostumes.com

The sculpt is the most accurate and perfect looking Slimer I’ve ever seen in the life size models. This will be the center piece of any Ghostbusters collector and will sit right next to your proton pack. It’s made of soft foam rubber like most life size Slimers on the market. But this one has the flat bottom perfect fit sitting on a small table. The table needs to be small so his arms can extend past the table. It comes in a huge box in three pieces. It’s very easy to attach his two arms without any tools or glue. They just squeeze in snug. My box was labeled 8 of 24 so this might be a limited run. But it does look like even though it’s sold out they will make more.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

I laugh everytime I walk by him ...
    By Current Customer  | October 27, 2023
This is one of the few purchases of late that has really put a continued smile on my face. They did an excellent job of capturing Slimer.

Well made, great detail - the eyes ... I had to poke one they just looked too real and wet ... but my finger went through - what was I thinking, he's a ghost. :) The eyes look wet, the mouth and teeth also. They are a nice contrast to the body which has a different look and feel but the two work really well to convey a lifelike slimer - now if only he could be semi transparent! :)

One thing I'd suggest is to un-bag him in a well ventilated area. He's got a bit of a smell to him that goes away, but needs a bit of time. I suppose that's appropriate for Slimer!

Really happy with this guy and is a must for your collection!
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
