Design & Details
This Made By Us animatronic is designed for serious Halloween impact. Standing approximately 6 feet tall when assembled, the Lunging Reaper includes a sturdy metal base, support poles, and a full frame structure that brings the character to life. The arms are foam-covered for lifelike volume, while the molded plastic skull and hands give it a bone-chilling level of detail.
The reaper wears a tattered black and gray fabric robe with a matching hood that shrouds the glowing eyes until it’s too late. When activated, the eyes light up, haunting audio plays, and the figure suddenly lunges forward—making it the MVP of your scare setup. Activation is triggered by motion sensor or via the on/off switch, and the included 5-piece scythe completes the terrifying silhouette.
This animatronic plugs into a standard US wall outlet. It’s best used indoors or in a covered outdoor area, and should be kept dry for maximum longevity (and minimum risk of ghostly glitches).

Just put this together and love it. I will say the instructions are not the greatest but figured it out. My only dislike is that the head is not upright like in the picture online. The head is tilted down in it's resting position and does not come up straight at all. But other than that, is a great animatronic. I'm not sure if intended or product defect, but the animation 'lunge' the reaper does is super slow, almost nonexistent, unlike what the demo video showed. I wasn't expecting anything with the speed of a snap, but this just seems oddly slow. This guy has a great body - good arms, good sensor, good voice, but the face was completely deformed - I mean, it was collapsed and just truly unusable or unrecognizable. We had to send him back. There is variance in the quality you get with each order, which is a shame because otherwise, this guy is a 100% purchase.

In the end, I love this guy - honestly, I do. The voice is absolutely ideal - the perfect level of creepy (deep, clear voice). However, the head faces downward and that's a shame because he's not looking at anyone coming straight at him. There were quality issues too - the first guy came with a deformed eye socket, so you could not see his glowing eyes, and his one arm stuck out really far knocking him a bit off balance. The second guy came with a good face, but he was still facing downward. The second guy's sensor didn't work. The third guy came with a completely crushed and deformed face, but had a good sensor. We decided to keep the good face and my husband is going to try to make the face look straight ahead. The end result, after numerous tries, is a great reaper but it's a shame he wasn't this great the first time out of the box.
I recommend the product because the end result is awesome - truly awesome - but only because HalloweenCostumes.com was so willing to work with me on quality issues. They are excellent.Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.Was this review helpful to you?
