The Toy That Robbie Freeling Could Never Forget
The clown from Poltergeist occupies a very specific corner of childhood terror: the toy that was supposed to be friendly, the grinning thing on the chair, the reason an entire generation checked under the bed before sleeping. (We kind of suspect that this haunted toy might have started the fear of clowns to begin with!) That creeping smile printed itself into pop culture and stayed there, because nothing is scarier than something that was designed to be safe. This officially licensed animatronic brings that legacy home in a five-foot giggling package.
Design & Details
Standing 55 inches to the top of the molded face (up to 62 inches with the poseable wireframe hat), this figure wears vinyl clown clothes sized for maximum unsettling effect: red-and-white striped legs and arms, a shiny silver collar stuffed and trimmed with bells, a star-adorned blue top, and big white molded gloves. Bells also decorate the hat and legs, so its jingling fun is everywhere!
Plug it into a standard outlet and the whole thing comes to life. The head rotates left to right on the neck, LED eyes shift back and forth, and the body pivots and leans in all directions while cycling through laughter that ranges from high-pitched to low and creepy music underneath it all. Volume control and an on/off switch keep you in charge... or as much as is possible with a possessed toy.
