- Mask covers half the face
- Ties behind head with black ribbons
The activity of embalming might not appeal to most, but Anubis loves it! In fact, it's pretty much his favorite thing of all time, since this Anubis dude was the god of embalming and the dead. Since jackals were often seen in cemeteries, the ancient Egyptians believed that Anubis watched over those who had shoved off this mortal coil, and he was also represented in Greek mythology as being the god who helped embalm Osiris after he was killed by Seth. As a sign of respect, Egyptian Priests often wore a mask of Anubis during mummification ceremonies. And he might look a lil' treacherous, but after the embalming and mummifying processing, it was believed that this underworld-dwelling god politely escorted his new-found soul buddies into the underworld, and, y'know, showed them the ropes. Kind of like an underworld Resident Advisor!
So if you're into costumes that are more than meets the eye, get into character and walk like an Egyptian while you wear this Pharaoh Mask! The mask covers half the face, and ties behind your head with black ribbons. See you on the flip side!
- Hit of the party!By Julie M | November 12, 2018Really love this - ribbons a little challenging holding it in place but could easily change to elastic next year. Quick delivery just in time! Was this review helpful to you?
- Better than expectedBy Anonymous | November 9, 2016The mask is made of paper mache and is very sturdy.
It has a more artsy and more handmade look which kind of looks like authentically Egyptian.
The size is bigger than it looks, the ears are pretty big.Was this review helpful to you?
