An Impressive Disguise
Bearded ladies have been a staple of carnivals since the 1800s, but did you know that sometimes, they were actually men in disguise? That’s right, sometimes those ladies’ beards weren’t quite so impressive when you learned the truth. Back in 1853, Josephine Clofullia, a beaded lady and one of the stars of P.T. Barnum’s circus, was taken to court by someone who was convinced she was actually a man. She wasn’t, but there were definitely some “ladies” who were!
With that in mind, we think it totally makes sense that you want to go as a bearded lady for your upcoming circus-themed costume party. Some people will scoff, but you can scoff at them for not knowing their circus history. Plus, who wants to be some tired old clown or the sixth ringleader of the night? Don’t you want to stand out from the crowd?

We have just the costume to bring your vision to life: this Men’s Plus Size Bearded Woman Costume. This exclusive costume is the perfect fit for any circus party. The dark red dress is 100 perfect polyester and blended to look like shiny satin and taffeta. The dress has a back zipper for easy wear. It also features satin insets and ruffles to really go along with the circus theme. There’s also a hair clip with a fabric flower made of the same fabric as the dress, attached to a metal alligator clip. (The wig and beard are sold separately, but we bet you were planning on growing your own glorious beard anyway!)
