Shiny Bug Costume for Kids
The tansy beetle lives a very specific life. It crawls around on tansy plants, it gleams in the sun like a tiny green gem, and it does not apologize for being iridescent. That is the whole agenda. Design & Details
The in-house design team made some genuinely committed choices here, starting with the decision to make everything iridescent. The back piece and hat are both crafted from green iridescent lamé, and even the little black eyes are made from metallic lamé. They were clearly not willing to let a single piece of this costume be boring.
The back piece straps on like a backpack, so it stays secure while your kid navigates doorways, staircases, and the candy bowl. The hat sits on top to complete the full beetle silhouette from head to carapace.

The tansy beetle does not technically have a social life, but your kid is about to have a better one than most. Somewhere out there, an actual tansy beetle is crawling on a leaf with no costume and no candy. Your kid has both. Evolution works in mysterious ways.
