Most Valuable Pal
There's excitement in the air as Halloween approaches. You feel it especially sharp this year knowing you get to take your toddler trick-or-treating for the first time. But you can tell they're feeling a bit of apprehension. Going outside in the dark where ghosts, monsters, and villains mingle to get candy of their own doesn't sound fun to your child.
Even though they know some superheroes, wizards, and cute animals will be there too. Luckily, you have a plan. Your toddler just needs a good pal to join them for their first Halloween adventure. They need the guy with all the right tools and an incomparable ability to lighten even the spookiest mood.

The attached hood is made from the same soft fabric and given a 3D profile with foam ears, fiberfill sculpting, and embroidered eyes. Ensure your toddler is ready to step into their first trick-or-treat with the included shoe covers that turn their own footwear into Mickey's signature yellow booties.

Size 4TWhen I ordered this costume the size choices were 2T and 4T.
My child just turned 4, wears size 4 as in with must brands it is big on him. His shoe size is a size 9 and the covers did not fit.
I was looking at this one or the costume that doesn't have a head piece and just a hood. That particular costume has the next size up. (5 and up)
I measured my child for all the measurements and let it be known that I am very familiar with sizing and measuring because I sew.
After reading the full descriptions, here were my worries...
Mickey Costume with hood, bow tie etc.
If I opt for sizing up and got the costume with the hood instead of the headpiece I would choose to sew the mittens onto the arms so that they are attached as this one is. I was worried about the hood not really accommodating the head and having it fall off constantly, which I would put elastic around the face to hold it in place. You will see a comment that concerns how the hood didn't stay on her child's face. I would also have put elastic under the shoe covers to secure them better because of another review saying they did not have elastic bands to hold them in place.
Snuggly Mickey Mouse Costume
So, ultimately I liked this one better because it had a head piece that would fit more securely, shoe covers that fit more securely, and mittens that I wouldn't have to keep track of because they were always hanging there when not on.
Concerns about this one were the head piece not fitting properly because it always seems that the head piece is always too small. If you look at the picture, you can't see the child's neck, which was my other concern, would it have a big space between the bottom of the head piece and the neck of the costume because they are not connected. It doesn't look like it, but I figured easy fix, I'd make him wear a turtleneck underneath.
Again, I measured and according to the chart it would fit. I was only concerned about the headpiece. The other costume with just the hood would be big on him. So, I ordered this one.
If you are debating, size up. This runs small on all measurements.
His crotch is riding up and that's an understatement, meaning that it is difficult to get his arms in the costume. You can't notice because the red shorts aren't attached to the crotch of the black pants, but it is. As I expected there is a 2 inch gap between the bottom of the headpiece and the costume, but the headpiece just fits him. The bottom of the legs are a little highwater so space between shoes and pants, not much but it's there.
Shoe covers arrived very wrinkly as in there is no way to get rid of the wrinkles. They are foam so there is no ironing. The velcro closures on the back were different on each and neither of them fit. So the one is almost closed and the other is closed on the top but not the bottom.
So as the name of the costume suggests... Snuggly Mickey it is very snug.
As far as quality, the quality of the material is good, it's the sizing that is the complaint for me.
When you measure according to a company's chart, it should fit perfect. You should know as a company what size pieces you cut and then used to make the costume....so your sizing is accurate.
Bottom Line, size up. The size 4T would fit a 3T perfect with no gaps to worry about.
I'm sure what makes the cost in the costume more is the headpiece and the material, but if it doesn't fit, it doesn't matter does it?
As a side note, the other costume I considered looked like the material was a bit more flimsy then this costume. I can't speak towards that, but I can say that the material used on this costume was a good quality, not the typical thin stuff.
Cute costume, good quality, but sizing is ridiculous and I followed all the directions in order to make sure this wouldn't happen and that's why it's rated that way.
I can't get another one in a bigger size and would have to pay extra in order to get something else here in time. Was this review helpful to you?
