Choose Your Own Adventure
We don't know any princesses who have been jumped through as many hoops as Princess Buttercup did. Some princesses might have to deal with getting trapped in towers or fainting for a hundred years, Buttercup must have broken a record. She gets kidnapped while riding a horse, swims in eel-infested waters, gets carried up the cliffs of insanity, and even hikes through the Fire Swamp. If you're thinking about channeling your inner princess, you might as well go for one who isn't afraid of a little adventure as well as one who fights for true love. Now, you might not be able to reenact all the trials and tribulations of The Princess Bride but you are totally allowed to invent adventures of your own. Travel through your downtown bar zone on a Friday night (aka the Blocks of Exasperation). Hike through fields of flowers and try to avoid the Buzzing Bees of Sting-dom. Whatever your adventures might look like, you can be dressed for the occasion when you're rocking this Princess Buttercup dress.
Details & Design
Straight out of The Princess Bride, this licensed Princess Buttercup gown is elegant and rich with details created by our very own, in-house design team. Inspired by the dress Buttercup was wearing during her kidnapping, it features long red, billowy sleeves with a gathered cuff. It has a high neckline and falls into a loose, pleated skirt. the dress is tied off at the waist with a gold pattern belt. The dress is topped off by the beaded crown that we all fawned over as kids (that couldn't just be us, right?).
Yes, we know what that word means
While the Sicilian might have overused it, we think we know how to apply the word "inconceivable". For instance, having a boring Halloween while wearing this outfit is utterly and completely inconceivable. We're sticking with that statement. And no, we don't want a peanut.

Height 5’10” | Weight 180 | Size LargeThis dress is AMAZING. I’m surprisingly impressed. It was a head turner, and everyone at the Renaissance Faire recognized me as Princess Buttercup. It is a thick and heavy material, so it is both high quality and runs a little hot, especially on a hot day (I attended the fair with this in 90+ degree weather. Surprisingly, despite the heat, I actually felt very comfortable in this dress and NOT overheated (I also used a parasol so that helped a lot). The belt is nicely embroidered, and the sleeves add that flair /elegance to pull the costume together. Very true to size so do your measurements! Bust size matters when zipping up. I didn’t do my measurements before my first purchase of a medium, and had to return for a large because it wouldn’t zip up.Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.Was this review helpful to you?

I was prepared for this costume to be well made from other reviews, but I was shocked at its quality. Needs a good ironing or steam to get package wrinkles out of, but the quality is really impressive. Made for. Heavy fabric so good for chill Halloween or any costume event. Height 5ft | Weight 120 | Size SmallThis is a lovely dress in many ways. There’s lots of material, the sleeves are great, the belt has lovely well done embroidery. I was excited to wear it with my fiancé as Westley. However. The zipper is the worst zipper in the world. I got small- which I am. The dress itself fit me just fine but the zipper flew off the track. This was annoying but I had time before Halloween to get another one. I went up a size just in case despite the fit being fine and then even with a ton more room the zipper still came off. Frankly, it is just a bad zipper. Very distressing as someone who was confident that I’d have no worries come Halloween. I was so beyond angry when I had the same problem despite upping a bigger Size.
