Everyone wants a chance to play the hero. You know, like some kind of daring character from the works of Alexandre Dumas! A D'Artagnan type, swinging on a chandelier while brandishing a sword, or fighting scheming villains who would try to commit evil schemes, all while saving the king from imminent doom! Unfortunately, the Musketeers were disbanded back in 1816, so you might not get a chance to don the blue cloak for the king, but that doesn't mean you can't play the hero at your next costume party. All you need is a debonair attitude, a fierce sense of duty and virtue, and, of course, the uniform of a Musketeer!

Design & Details
Inspired by the grand tales of Alexandre Dumas, this Musketeer costume comes with everything you need! It starts with a bright blue tunic, complete with the silver cross symbol on the front. The brown pants are simple costume pants that complement the blue tunic in style. The belt is faux leather and is adjustable with the metal buckle in front. The boot covers fit over most pairs of shoes and the matching gloves slip onto your hands to make you look ready for a duel! Finally, the hat brings the whole look together. It has a feather attached to the top to add a dash of elegance to the outfit.

Overall summary:
I recommend it only for the amazing tunic. I cannot rate it higher because some of the other parts that came with it have big issues. The hat is an important component of the costume and I don't like it mostly because of the wrinkles. The gloves and the belt are too small. The amazing tunic quality is the redeeming aspect of the costume and the reason why I haven't returned it.
The tunic:
It's amazing. Fantastic color, texture and design. The velvet gives it an incredible look and it feels great. This costume will surely stand out. I really want to wear this at a party sometime. I ordered size M and it fits me well. My chest is about 38".
The trousers:
The trousers fit me well and I like them. These have a flexible waist, adjust well and are comfortable. For reference, I usually wear trousers with a waist 34-36.
Boot covers:
I like the boot covers. They are expandable and adjust rather well on my legs. I might look for a way to better secure them to ensure that they stay in place over long periods of walking, when they might move out of place.
The hat:
I do not like the hat. I had high hopes from the picture in the ad, and I consider this as one of the most important component of the costume. However, what I received doesn't look anywhere as nice. First, it has a structure formed by a wire covered with faux leather, making it very malleable but also flimsy-feeling and will likely maintain an irregular shape. It needs to be reshaped manually if one wants it to be as shown in the picture in the ad. Most importantly, the hat arrived in a bag in a compressed/folded state. The hat has some very bad wrinkles which highly impact the way it looks. I steamed it multiple times and I am still unable to get those wrinkles out, and at this point doubt I can ever succeed at it. The attached photos were taken after many attempts at steaming the wrinkles out, and it was much worse when it arrived. I cannot wear this hat at a party with this smashed aspect (maybe if someone wants to represent a musketeer after combat then it could be great hat to wear...). I will need to get a different hat if I want to get my whole costume together.
The belt:
For reference, I purchased a size M costume. However, the belt is way too short. I usually wear trousers that are size 34-36. In contrast, this belt is about 37 1/4 inches in total length (not counting the metal buckle), which implies that it does not close on me and it will not even touch itself at its ends when wrapped around my waist. Only someone that is really thin will be able to use the belt. The material of the belt is faux leather, which I think it won't be durable for a belt in the long term (maybe good enough in the short term though, if someone can fit). I will just try to get a regular belt with a similar color at a clothing store so I can use it with this costume.
The gloves:
The gloves are way too small for me to use (for reference I wear M size winter gloves, hence my hands are not anomalous). The pinky finger is the most affected by the small size. The gloves strongly constrain the mobility of the fingers. I attached some pictures of the gloves taken against a lamp in the background so the hand can be seen through the glove like an X-ray, illustrating how severe the glove's constraint is. I will need to get different gloves for the costume.Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.Was this review helpful to you?

I'm 6'3" (190cm) and weight 205lbs (93kg), I ordered the XL size. The pants are comfortable though I would have liked it if they had tie cord & not just rubber around the waist. The Tunic really looks great and so is the hat. The gloves are on the small size. They are not that comfortable but still manageable.
Overall its a great costume that delivers a wow effect.Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.Was this review helpful to you?
