Dilophosaurus, Playground Edition
Recess is about to get a lot more prehistoric. Somewhere between the monkey bars and the slide, a new predator is staking out its territory, and the other kids can spot it from across the sandbox. This Dilophosaurus Costume unleashes the prehistoric powerhouse into the playground. A soft velour jumpsuit with a stuffed tail and a sculpted headpiece an orange and yellow frill give your kiddo that fearsome dino look, so they can rule recess, at least until the bell rings.
Our in-house team designed this outfit to make the most of the dino’s silhouette. The moment that frill fans out, it’s game over for boring costumes. And from the textured fabric to the sculpted headpiece, there’s no mistaking what species just showed up at the party.
Design & Details
Designed by our in-house team as a Made By Us exclusive, this Dilophosaurus Costume makes the most of the dino's dramatic silhouette. The jumpsuit is made of 100% polyester velour for a scale-like look and soft feel. It fastens down the back with hook and loop and has a stuffed tail sewn on to give it shape. Three-finger mitts slide over hands like claws, and matching shoe covers fit over sneakers with a hook-and-loop ankle cuff and an elastic band under the foot.
The foam-backed headpiece brings the whole transformation together. Soft-sculpted eyes, twin crests, and a dramatic frill lined with bold orange and yellow patterns sit on the top and sides, and a hook-and-loop fastener at the back keeps it secure.
Care & Fit: Hand wash or spot clean only. Machine washing and drying are not recommended.

We went as a Jurassic Park family and my 8yo daughter looked great as a dilophosaurus. The head gear was a little tight, and one of the frills was wonky, but nothing two paperclips couldn’t remedy easily. Size SmallThis costume is well made. I bought a size small versus xs and it is just a little bit big. My 6 y/o is on the shorter more petite size. There are reviews the head piece runs small. It fit my son well, but I could see that it could be small on others with bigger sized heads or a lot of hair.

But they get away with it because idiots like me keep paying it, but I had already promised my daughter before they jacked up the price. The frills do not stand up well as mentioned in other reviews. It was a lot of work to get them up for this picture. We had a jolly time and received many compliments this past Halloween. The costumes are well made and made my sons happy . The dilophosaurus and stegosaurus costumes kept my sons warm and cozy in 30degree temps . For the dilophosaurus costume I did sew a small seam between the frill and head to help the frills stay up . It helped a lot . I also ordered a size small for my size 5t son and had to sew up the legs and sleeves . Even then it’s snug, and her face isn’t recessed inside the mouth like it probably should be. But it’s still cute. Just can’t fasten in in back. I imagine it will get hot and hopefully not too itchy! The teeth are all bent so I have to see if I can iron or something. The frill part has some structure to keep it up, but definitely will need some extra help. Planning to make adjustments so it looks right. My son loves the more obscure dinosaurs (I swear we only learned about 6 or so when I was his age) so this is a hit with him. Outstanding quality, I will definitely buy from this line in the future. He usually wears a 5/6 and I got an 8/10 to allow for clothing underneath. The legs are really long but that’s easy to deal with. The tail is so cute. This is a high quality costume for sure. I ordered my almost 5 yr old a medium because he is moving into size 8 already. Glad I did the medium 8-10 fit him perfectly! This costume has no stretch to it so size up to be safe. The head was tight to get on him but not impossible. He did complain it was itchy so I'm going to hand wash it and hope that helps otherwise we may have to do long sleeves and a some tights to keep the inner layer of fabric off his skin. It also came with attached gloves thank goodness they were attached to the suit and the shoe covers looked great as well. Side note he couldn't sit down because of the tail and lack of stretch to the costume but if you size up you should have a bit more give to allow for sitting more comfortably. Size X-LargeI couldn't be happier with my son's costume! He loves Jurassic Park and when he found out he could go as his favorite dinosaur for Halloween, he was so excited. I was nervous waiting for this to come in the mail. Arrived pretty quickly and it fit perfectly! He's 10 and big for his age (depending on the brand he can wear anywhere from a 12 to a 16) so we bought his costume in an extra large to make sure he could wear a layer underneath in case it's chilly that night. The headpiece is really snug going on and off. He says it's comfortable once on, but I may tinker with it a little. The frills don't stick out at the sides, but they didn't in the film until the creature was attacking so he was fine with that. I love that the claw/hand covers are made onto the suit so that they can be removed without losing them. I am really impressed with the details and quality of this costume.
