A good villain needs three things: dramatic flair, a vague vendetta, and an outfit that says, “I’ve already monologued this morning and I’ll do it again.” This Deluxe Captain Hook Costume delivers on all three—plus some bonus lace. If you’ve been craving the chance to dramatically stomp the deck of a ship (or your living room) in full velvet regalia, your time has come, captain.
Time to command a crew, strike a pose, and dramatically overreact to the mention of crocodiles.
Design & Details
This costume comes with a maroon velvet jacket trimmed in gold braid, with black velvet accents on the collar, cuffs, and lapels. Metallic gold frogs line the front for that “I hold grudges and I look fabulous” vibe. The matching vest features the same rich fabric and regal gold edging, perfect for layering under your villainous exterior.
The black pants have an elastic waistband for comfort and tie just below the knee to meet the faux leather boot tops. The jabot attaches with hook and loop and features accordion pleats and lace trim, because nothing says “menacing” like fancy neckwear. The foam-backed tricorn hat has a wired brim to shape it just right, complete with a feather, gold trim, and a striped scarf you can tie however the drama demands.
Not a Pirate—The Pirate

The costume looked great! Some things that could have been improved:
1 The hat was smashed and the wire support would not let the hat go to the correct shape. Had to use safety pins to alter it.
2 The white feather type material in the hat was all over the rest of the polyester items making it difficult to clean.
3 The vest did not have a button or Velcro to close as the picture shows. This is important due to the small fabric used around the neck that adds ruffles around the chest area.Was this review helpful to you?

I'm using this for a part I play in a interactive murder-mystery-comedy show. My part is a French pirate captain and this is perfect for it. The only thing I had to do was take the vest to a local tailor as it had no means to close in the front, so the photo used by the manufacturer was a little misleading as you can see it is closed in the front. I purchased separately the mustache, and the lace wrist bands, the baldric and sword and the sash.Was this review helpful to you?

Height 6'1" | Weight 205 | Size LargeThis is the second costume I've purchased from HalloweenCostumes.com. I appreciate that the quality of these costumes is higher than expected. This costume will survive being worn multiple times, so it's great for re-use! Sizing was spot on. Out of the package, it's a little wrinkled, so do give yourself time to set it out first. The detail on the coat is wonderful - little buttons on the collar, for example. The vest is simple (just the embroidery on the front). It's very easy to mix and match this with your own clothes/other pieces as well. The costume comes with almost everything you need (only missing wig and accessories (hook, sword, etc)) at a great price. I am 185 pounds and 6 feet tall and the large (regular) fits perfectly. It is rather comfortable but is a little warm as is to be expected due to the number of layers. Height 5'9" | Weight 200lbs | Size X-LargeThis costume was very authentic and realistic looking and I received many compliments at the party I attended. A few minor improvements would make this costume a five-star rating.
1. I ordered this based on the sizing chart however the pants were still extremely large around my waist. The elastic band did not fit tight enough so I ended up having to place a belt around my waist in order to keep the pants from falling down. Would have been nice if there was a drawstring built into the fabric.
2. The vest does not stay closed in the middle of the chest as shown in the picture. A button, Velcro or clip would have been helpful.
3. The simulated boot covers were very loose even with the pants tucked into the boot they still kept falling. Was pleasantly surprised at the quality and detail! I thought the costume was made pretty nice, what I received is what is shown in the picture and what I expected. I had read through other reviews before purchasing if you did not receive all items, sorry, that was unfortunate and probably unintentional. Costume arrived before ETA. Tried it on immediately. I bought the large, I am 6'0, 200lbs. It was a perfect fit! Wished the vest had a clasp or button to keep it closed. Hat came a little off kilter.
