Little Shop of Horrors or Big Yard of Terror?
You know that type who is always saying they're low maintenance. Just feed 'em and they're happy? Gnashroot took that energy and ran with it. (Or at least planted itself deep in that mindset.) While other monstrous plants might sing about their ambitions for world domination, Gnashy is eager to grab a bite to eat and make a bad habit of chewing with his mouth open. (Who can blame a vegetable for bad table manners, though?)
This 5-foot carnivorous plant animatronic doesn't do subtle. It rotates its toothy head, snaps its jaws with genuine enthusiasm, and makes the kind of crunching sounds that suggest it recently enjoyed something formerly alive. It growls, screeches, and sighs like it's contemplating the philosophical implications of photosynthesis! Position him on your porch and challenge your guests to come and smell the roses.
Design & Details
Standing 5 feet tall, Gnashroot features fabric construction with faux plant leaves climbing a realistic stalk. The gauze drape scattered with vinyl leaves creates that horrific jungle monster authenticity. His rotating head opens and closes to reveal jaws lined with gauze that diffuses the color-changing LED lights, cycling through red, yellow, green, blue, and purple for maximum unsettling effect.
The tripod base adjusts to multiple heights for versatile placement. An activation panel tucked under the tarp offers try-me mode, on/off control, and runs on 4 AA batteries. Sound effects include forest ambiance, enthusiastic munching and crunching, deep sighs, growls, and piercing screeches that communicate Gnashroot's... let's call them "dietary needs."
Every Garden Needs a Carnivore
Why settle for boring begonias when you could cultivate something with personality? Gnashroot brings that perfect blend of botanical horror and hungry attitude to your Halloween display. Just remember: if anyone asks if you've been feeding it, maintain plausible deniability.

When i first received these, the box was in sad condition. I worriedly peeled the cardboard back to find the head with the rest of the body stuffed inside... my first thought was "cheap"-- but once i unfolded it and arranged it i was pleasantly surprised. the head is plastic... the body wire and cloth. The big fail here is the tripod it sits on- its lightweight plastic and I can't see it holding up long. you couldn't use any weighted bag on it, you would break it. Stakes are your only choice when using the tripod. Personsally, since the head is basically a pole, i plan on using a steel rod or pole hammered in the ground and set the head on it as you would the tripod. the loss will be height adjustment as the tripod adjusts- but you gain stability and don't worry about Seymour falling over and getting damaged. The electrics are loose so best bet would be to attach them somewhere for stability. The sensors are low and react well. (one of mine was broken but i managed to fix it). the mouth area is lighted, sound is great and I'm so happy i got them. I dont think they are very weatherproof so won't be seeing them out until the day of halloween to ensure their longevity. I think they are slightly overpriced, feeling 75-80$ is a reasonable price. But I love them so GREAT! FEED ME SEYMOUR!!!Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend. Was this review helpful to you? - MSDowneyBy Fun but a little dissapointing | September 27, 2026
When I opened the box it was not what I was expecting. To be fair I was not sure what I was expecting. The disappointing part was that the teeth fell right out of the mouth of the plant. We had not even put it together yet and bothe the top and the bottem came right out. So I am DIY'ing this thing together... Not what I was hoping to do for a brand new productBottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend. Was this review helpful to you? - Pretty CreepyBy WILLIAM BROOKS | September 25, 2026
