Questions & Answers
Q: Do the eyes move around? Can they move from side to side? Also, once switch to the On position, do they just stay on? Or can they surprise people by being off and then suddenly moving?

Monster Responds...
The LCD eyes light up when the switch is flipped to On, and they stay on continuously from there. The reaper has no moving parts, so the eyes don't shift side to side or animate on their own.(AI Generated Answer)
Q: Can this item (The Digital Eye Hanging Reaper) be placed outside and NOT covered??

The Gleaming Digital Eye Hanging Reaper is made from molded plastic and polyester gauze fabric, and we don't rate it for outdoor or weather-exposed use. To protect the battery compartment and the LCD eye electronics, we'd recommend keeping it in a covered or sheltered spot if you do hang it outside.(AI Generated Answer)
Q: Can this be left outside?
(1 Answer)
Asked by Anonymous | June 30, 2025
Monster Responds...
Our copy doesn't call this decoration weather-resistant or rated for outdoor use, so we'd recommend keeping it indoors or in a covered, sheltered spot to protect the electronics and polyester gauze fabric. The battery compartment and LCD eyes especially do best away from moisture.(AI Generated Answer)
Q: Is this on for outdoor use?

Asked by eric | October 8, 2024
Monster Responds...
Our copy doesn't specify an outdoor rating for this decoration, and because it runs on batteries and features electronic LCD eyes, we'd recommend keeping it in a covered or indoor spot to protect those components from moisture. It hangs easily with the attached cord and stretches a full 60 inches long, so it makes a dramatic statement in a doorway, on a porch ceiling, or in any sheltered space.(AI Generated Answer)
Q: It’s activation with motion sensor?? It’s correct??
(1 Answer)
Asked by Samara | October 22, 2023
Monster Responds...
This reaper activates with an ON/OFF switch, not a motion sensor. The switch controls the light-up LCD digital eyes, so you decide exactly when those glowing eyes come to life.(AI Generated Answer)
Q: I was wondering about how these hold up to being outdoors, getting wet, etc...? I would like to hang one in my front yard, but i fear bad weather could negatively effect the electronics. (1 Answer)
Asked by John | October 9, 2023
Monster Responds...
This reaper is designed as an indoor/outdoor decoration, but it runs on 4 AA batteries housed in a molded plastic body, and battery compartments are generally not waterproof. For front yard display, a covered porch or overhang would give it much better protection than open exposure to rain. The polyester gauze fabric can also hold moisture, which over time could affect both the look and the electronics.(AI Generated Answer)
Q: Can this be placed outside in a yard?
(1 Answer)
Asked by KristinSpeer | September 22, 2023
Monster Responds...
Our copy doesn't specify whether this decoration is rated for outdoor use, so we can't confirm it's weatherproof. The polyester gauze fabric and battery compartment make it worth keeping in a covered or sheltered spot at minimum, like a porch ceiling or covered entryway, rather than fully exposed to rain or wind.(AI Generated Answer)
Q: Is this product suitable for outdoor use or indoor only?

Asked by Richard | September 20, 2023
Monster Responds...
The reaper is made from molded plastic and polyester gauze fabric, and our copy doesn't specify a weather resistance rating, so we'd recommend keeping it indoors or in a covered, sheltered spot to protect the fabric, the battery compartment, and the light-up LCD eyes from moisture.(AI Generated Answer)
Q: Can this be used outside?

Monster Responds...
Our copy doesn't call this decoration out as weather-resistant or rated for outdoor use, so we'd recommend keeping it indoors or in a covered, sheltered spot to protect the molded plastic, polyester gauze, and battery-powered LCD eye electronics from moisture.(AI Generated Answer)
Q: Is this suitable for outdoor use? Or indoor only?
(1 Answer)
Asked by Chasity | July 24, 2023
Monster Responds...
We don't have an indoor/outdoor rating for this decoration. It's battery-powered with an on/off switch and made from molded plastic and polyester gauze, so if you do hang it outside, you'd want a covered spot that keeps it sheltered from rain and moisture.(AI Generated Answer)
Q: Is this hanging prop water proof and cam it be hung outside all year long?
(1 Answer)
Asked by Caleb | July 19, 2023
Monster Responds...
This reaper is made from molded plastic and polyester gauze fabric, and we don't have a weatherproof or outdoor rating for it. The electronic components, battery compartment, and polyester gauze make it a better fit for covered or indoor display rather than year-round outdoor exposure.(AI Generated Answer)
Q: Can this go outdoors?
(1 Answer)
Asked by Marqueta | July 11, 2023
Monster Responds...
We don't have a weather resistance rating for this decoration. It's made of molded plastic and polyester gauze fabric with battery-powered LCD eyes, so moisture and wind could damage the electronics and fabric over time. A covered porch would be a safer spot than fully open outdoor exposure.(AI Generated Answer)

I loved it!Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.Was this review helpful to you? - Perfect hanging prop!!!By Mike L | November 3, 2025
First and foremost let me just say I love this prop; the eyes are incredible and the detail from the outfit to the hands is perfect. Hung him on my porch right by my door this year and everyone who stopped by trick or treating loved it. Some kids were scared and freaked out by the eyes which was great while others could not stop staring and even mentioned how much they loved it. He drew a ton of attention and ultimately no one even noticed that mine has 2 right hands lol. After seeing how amazing the props from this site are hoping I can pick up something new before next Halloween to add to my display!Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend. Was this review helpful to you? - It's a Great Simple Prop for Max EffectBy Brian | October 6, 2023
I knocked 1 star because the battery compartment nut fell off and I had to disassemble the skull to get it back in place to close. Otherwise it's great! Just enough movement to add some fun and scary ambiance to your Halloween setup. Great value!Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend. Was this review helpful to you? - Good but bad productBy Chris | September 30, 2023
The lcd eyes is just what I wanted but the box came in damaged and I just found a random screw in the box that I'm sure holds the head upright since it keeps falling down. For a motion sensor activation being on the tag it doesn't show any ability to do so.Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend. Was this review helpful to you? - It's alrightBy Current Customer | July 31, 2023
Love how animated the eyes are and it's a rather large static prop. The problem lies with how the skulls face aligns. Upon arrival the front piece of the skull was bent out of alignment and didnt aligned with the two pieces (left and right side) of the back skull. The skull is essentially three pieces and they don't align at all. Having to get out the glue gun and see if I can salvage it. Otherwise it's an alright prop!Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend. Was this review helpful to you? - Digital hanging reaperBy kim pomplin | June 13, 2023
