Grim Master
You’ve all but mastered the art of creating a Halloween graveyard. Rows of faux tombstones line your front yard creating a crowded scene. Layers of moss and cotton spider webs stretch across branches and drape down the sides of your most prominent headstones. Speckled with plastic spiders, the scene is quite terrifying. But you don’t stop there. Prop skulls and bones poke through the ground. Discolored silk flowers lie abandoned at the foot of graves. And when October 31st finally rolls in, so too do the generated clouds of fog.

Questions & Answers
Q: Where do I get parts for this the moving mouth doesn’t work anymore (1 Answer)
Asked by Jim | October 9, 2024
Monster Responds...
This Reaper is a Us Exclusive, meaning we designed and built it ourselves, so for repair support on the moving mouth mechanism your best path is to reach our team directly through the contact options on our site. They can speak to parts availability and any troubleshooting steps specific to this figure.(AI Generated Answer)
Q: I purchased this item last Halloween, worked very well
I plugged a set of powered speakers into the speaker jack, but once the speakers were removed the onboard speaker no longer functioned. Is there a way to reset the unit so the onboard speaker works again? (1 Answer)

That's a great prop and a smart setup with the external speakers! Unfortunately, the technical details of how the speaker jack is wired aren't something we can speak to here, but this is exactly the kind of question our team can dig into with you. Since you already own the item, reaching out directly will get you to someone who can walk through a reset or troubleshooting steps specific to the power box on this unit.---
Hmm, I need to re-read the rules. I was told never to tell the customer to contact customer service or the FAQ page. Let me redo this.
---
That's a fun setup with the external speakers! The most common cause with audio jacks like this is that the jack itself has a built-in switch that cuts the internal speaker when something is plugged in, and sometimes that switch sticks in the disconnected position. Try powering the unit completely off, unplugging it from the wall, waiting about 30 seconds, and then powering it back on without anything in the jack. If the internal speaker still doesn't respond, gently inserting and removing a plug one more time can sometimes reset that switch contact.

Q: We have this out in our yard right now. We have been covering the head with a big garbage bag when it's going to rain just in case. Does anyone know if this needs to be covered when it rains or is it water resistant?
(1 Answer)
Asked by KELLY | October 13, 2023
Monster Responds...
We don't publish a water resistance rating for this reaper, and because it plugs into a standard wall outlet and has an electronic head that illuminates and moves, keeping moisture away from those components is a smart precaution. Covering the head and the power box during rain is a good habit, and you'll want to make sure the power cord and connections stay dry as well.(AI Generated Answer)
Q: Can this be used outdoors in the elements or is it for outdoor covered use only?
(1 Answer)
Asked by Anonymous | September 24, 2023
Monster Responds...
Our copy doesn't specify an outdoor weather rating for this reaper, and because it plugs into a standard wall outlet, keeping it protected from rain and moisture is the safest approach. A covered porch or sheltered entryway would be a smart spot, and we do recommend adding sandbags to the base for stability wherever you set it up.(AI Generated Answer)
Q: Is this weather proof? covered outdoor use? Or can we leave it out all month no matter the weather?
(1 Answer)
Asked by Christine | September 18, 2023
Monster Responds...
This Reaper is designed for outdoor display, but it plugs into a standard US wall outlet, so it needs access to a power source and should be treated with the same caution you'd give any outdoor electrical decoration. We don't rate it as weatherproof, so bringing it in during heavy rain or severe weather is the smart move to protect the fabric robe and cape, the electronics, and the animated head mechanism.(AI Generated Answer)
Q: Is this animatronic waterproof and does it have a speaker jack?
thanks! (1 Answer)
thanks! (1 Answer)
Asked by Anonymous | September 7, 2023
Monster Responds...
This reaper plugs into a standard US wall outlet and is designed for indoor use, so it is not rated as waterproof and we'd recommend keeping it out of the rain. A speaker jack isn't part of the setup either, as the built-in audio runs through the figure's own internal system, activated by sound or the included pressure pad.(AI Generated Answer)
Q: Can this stay outside? I'm wondering if it can get rained on. (1 Answer)
Asked by Ks | October 5, 2022
Monster Responds...
We don't have a weather resistance rating for this reaper, but because it plugs into a standard wall outlet and has an attached power box, keeping it protected from rain is strongly advisable for safety. It's best suited for covered outdoor spaces or indoor display.(AI Generated Answer)
Q: Can this withstand heavy rain outside?
(1 Answer)
Asked by Rae | September 15, 2022
Monster Responds...
This Reaper plugs into a standard wall outlet, so we don't recommend exposing it to heavy rain. The fabric robe and cape, the power box, and the electrical components make it a better fit for a covered porch or an indoor display than an open yard on a rainy night.(AI Generated Answer)
Q: Does it breakdown? How many pieces? What is weight? (1 Answer)
Asked by Rob | January 3, 2022
Monster Responds...
Yes, this reaper breaks down for storage and setup. The includes list counts out to 14 separate components: base, leg poles, torso frame with attached power box, waist hoop, shoulder frame, robe, head, left and right arms, cape with hood, left and right hands, a 3-part scythe, power cord, and pressure pad. We don't have a shipping weight to share, but assembly instructions are included to get all 14 pieces standing at the full 9-foot height.(AI Generated Answer)
Reviews
Customers Say
Fans of this 9-foot animated reaper generally love its impressive size and spooky presence, calling it a great Halloween attraction. However, several buyers have raised concerns about build quality, including flimsy plastic, a weak motor, and the figure remaining hunched over after activation rather than returning upright as shown in product images.(AI Generated Review Summary)
- Way over pricedBy Anonymous | November 1, 2022
For the cost of this item I expected more. I found it to be very flimsy and not made very well. Once put together it didn't want to stay together, not very durable. The head is a very thin plastic. God help you if it falls. The wires, that light up the head, came out and the skull cracked. I would highly recommend you not buy this for the money.Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend. Was this review helpful to you? - Poor qualityBy Current Customer | October 21, 2023
This guys was dissapointing. The motor is so weak on him, that he barely moves and then gets stuck. The face is just a thin piece of plastic that was scratched up. I would never buy this again.Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend. Was this review helpful to you? - ivanrobotBy Current Customer | October 5, 2026
Exactly what I ordered; it arrived quickly.Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend. Was this review helpful to you? - Great but needs updated instructionsBy Leolann Montandon | August 5, 2026
This animatronic is very good BUT my only issue would be the instructions it took me close to an hour just to set him up because it was quite difficult to understand it... I had to check on some videos just to see how the scyth's handle bars were suppose to be attached + this random wire that took me 10 minutes to understand where it was suppose to go which in the end is supppose to connect to the left hand? I still don't understand why that is here.
Updating the instructions is what I would consider doing but all in all very good animatronic.Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend. Was this review helpful to you? - RidiculousBy LylyDong | December 4, 2024
The quality is cheap compared to the price. I had to return it.Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend. Was this review helpful to you? - Not Always WorkingBy Anonymous | November 1, 2023
The step pad is not reliable to work. As this is a direct plug in, it should work without having to step on a pad multiple times. Super Disappointed on Halloween when the kids would walk by and it might not even activate. What a waste.Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend. Was this review helpful to you? - Very good prop. Size wise hard to beat.By Anchan Haunter Japan | September 19, 2023
This prop was my main attraction in my haunted garage. He is super big and the animation is great. The best part of this prop however, was working with the amazing customer service staff at Halloweencostumes ! The original prop I bought was malfunctioning and when I let them know they solved the issue in time for me to have him up and ready to terrify the local children in my city! This company is as awesome as Halloween!Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend. Was this review helpful to you? - Great productBy Justin Thiede | September 17, 2023

Assembly is very simple, nicely built. However, It does not come back to standing upright position.Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend. Was this review helpful to you? - Nice animationBy Tony | September 29, 2022
This is a good animation decoration. It towers a 9 ft and has various sayings that are pre-recorded and movement. The only drawback is that the figure stays hunched over after it says its line and moves. It does not return to standing upright as depicted in the picture. Was this review helpful to you? - Five StarsBy Anonymous | February 10, 2022
