You won’t need to cobble this together with crazy equipment from a Columbia physics lab. This is a seriously detailed, high-quality replica molded from sturdy plastic with a paint job that gives vintage paranormal tech vibes. It's got all the wires, tubes, toggles, and LED-glowing magic a ghost hunter could ask for—plus a neutrona wand that makes lights and sounds straight out of the 1984 classic. You’ll feel like you are the special effects.
Design & Details
This officially licensed 2025 Proton Pack is molded from durable plastic and designed for long-haul cosplay and display. The adjustable padded shoulder straps and hefty waist strap keep it secure while you're chasing ghosts... or while you're running late to the next convention. The flexible tubing connects the wand to the pack, and it slots securely onto the side when not in use.
A push-button on the wand grip activates movie-style lights and sounds—yes, the hum is back, and it’s glorious. Just lflip the switches, and pull the trigger and the wand vibrates like it's ready to take down Slimer. Once it's powered on, it's like stepping into a scene with Venkman and the gang. Complete with a red light-up feature at the end and further lighting effects on the pack. Of course, Slime sold separately.

One of the best proton packs you can get without breaking the bank.
For casual fans it goes above and beyond the competition.
For hardcore fans, it's shockingly accurate, and a fantastic base for modding.
The shell is extremely well done, with the only erogenous spots being the crank generator know, and the v hook.
The paint job is without any weathering, but that is hardly an issue for anyone with even beginner knowledge in crafting. The stickers look good, the cyclotron is fantastic, and the lights are pure eye-candy for the price.
The real stand out is the neutrona wand, which lights up with switches, and vibrates when firing. It's not the best wand on the market, but for the price, it's magical. Flipping those switches is therapeutic.
Lastly, the Alice frame and straps are comfortable and really sell the pack. It's just not the same without the frame is my opinion, and typical Alice frames can go for 50 bucks atleast.
To summarize, this pack is a steal for the price, and gives you so much for such a low price. Do NOT miss out on this thing.Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.Was this review helpful to you?

This pack blew me away. I've owned the competitor's Pack for the same price and the expensive Hasbro pack and this pack nestles itself perfectly in between the two in quality! It's miles better than their Halloween competition aesthetically!
The sound effects aren't perfect 1:1 but close enough out of the box. And the fact that you get the Alice pack and straps, and vibration effects for the same price as the competition is amazing!
Obviously the expensive Hasbro pack is a closer 1:1 replica, but it's also much heavier. This is perfect for Halloween and Cosplay. It's slightly heavier that the competitor's, but light enough that I could easily wear it all day. Great product (maybe the painting could be a bit more „realistic“ and more detailed). But except this, this pack is awesome. Great sound nice light effects and good to handle. I really looking forward to the next costume party. And my childhood dream become a real ghostbuster after so many years finally came true. Ordered this GB Proton Pack 2 days before Halloween. Paid extra for overnight shipping and it arrived in 24 hours! It was for an adult male 6'6", 240 lbs. All positive comments. Length was enough for his height. Shoulder straps fit well. Sounds and Lights worked great. The belt didn't work so well for his frame (didn't expect it to) but he didn't need to use it, the shoulder straps held the pack nicely. I have looked at and purchased some other proton packs and I have to say that this one is the best of them. I love the detail, look and heft of this proton pack. The electronics are a great addition with movie accurate lights and sound effects. I really love the fact that all the switches actually work and aren't just molded on for appearances. They all have function with the electronics too. Volume control for the SFX is also a nice touch that doesn't appear in any of the others I have looked at. This one is also more durable than any of the others with an actual pack frame and belts that are actually sturdy and functional.
Just to compare, I purchased the proton pack from a competitor in August before this one became available. When I got this one and compared the two there was no contest. The HalloweenCostumes.com proton pack was superior in every way and worth the money spent. The competitor pack was clunky and even cheap in some areas. The harnesses were hot glued on and there was no carry frame. It was a one piece mold without a lot of detail. It looks like a cheap toy compared to the new one from Halloween Costumes.
As a final note, with a little weathering this pack could actually compare to the actual movie prop very well. The only way to get one better is to make it from scratch and that would take electronics knowledge, machining, sourcing parts and a lot of other things that I bet most of us don't have the skill or money to do. Likewise, you could find an actual movie prop, but the last one I saw went at auction for $170,000 a decade ago.

This Proton pack is great. Not a perfect screen match, but close. This newer model looks and feels great.
It is not quite as detailed as other models, but it is not far off and priced better and it is the pack and wand.

This is a great "prop". I am not a mega ghostbusters fan, so I can't compare technical accuracy or have a means to compare this to other brands, but if you like movie memorabilia or just enjoy gadgets from movies, it is pretty cool. I love the Lights and Sounds of this Proton Pack. I love the way the wand shakes when activated.
However, the copper painted piece is made of Plastic and not metal.
The v hook doesn't hold the wand securely in place.
Then where the metal frame is screwed onto the pack is Cracked. Thankfully the crack is hidden from view.

Hands down the best proton pack straight out of the box. The details and the metal alice pack frame make it unbeatable for the price. Size and details are very good and the plastic has a textured finish so repainting and a few upgrades will make an awesome replica. Not too heavy, just right. Sound and lights are adequate and loud. I will probably upgrade those down the road however.
