Prestige Little Mermaid Ursula Women's Costume

I bought this for my daughters Princesses & Villains 7th birthday party. It was a huge hit. I got many compliments from parents and kids alike, especially with regard to the inflatable tentacles. The colors are very nice. The materials are nice but I'd say for the price, the overall quality is just not there, hence my giving 4 stars in lieu of 5. I really want to give it 5 stars, but the back zipper is no where near the quality it needs to be. This zipper has a very hard time getting up and down the track through the thick seam at the waist transition from the skirt to the back of the top, even with the boning for support. I am so glad there was a hook at the top as it helped some. If felt as though it would stick and ultimately break and had to be backed down and up again multiple times, each time I put it on: once to make sure it fit when it arrived and once for the party. Because of the zipper issue, I had to have help getting it on, which was a bummer because I wanted it to be a surprise to husband.

The costume fit just fine and did not run small for me. If I did size up, as many previous reviewers said to, it would most likely have been slightly too big. I found it to run pretty true to size. I'm glad I didn't size up. I could stand to lose a few lb.'s and it would probably fit even more comfortably, but I was not uncomfortable in the slightest. The shiny, satiny top part does have some stretch to it, which is nice. I am very big busted (36G/H) and with a black, strappy, contour, full coverage, balconette bra (for lift & shape) underneath, it worked especially well with the mesh purple long sleeve crop top, yes, crop top, lol, it is not a full top, which I think depending on what look you want, could be optional. Since this was a kids party, I opted for full coverage. A strapless bra would work nicely as well. The length of the costume was just fine for me. I wore some black, rhinestone studded, strappy Skechers flip flop sandals with about a 1 inch platform heel and I didn't feel like I was going to step on or trip on the costume at all. I did make sure to hold it up going down my stairs just in case.

The costume could be hot, especially if it is summer and you run hot as an individual, but the fan to inflate the tentacles was great because it actually helped keep me cooled down, especially while I was sitting or standing still. As the host, I was running around most of the time, so I appreciated the airflow. The fan is adequate to inflate the tentacles and it is pretty quiet.

The exaggerated gold shell necklace that comes with the costume is perfect. I added a pair of black diamond studs for good measure.

The tentacles are velcro'd around the waist, so they are removable, which I did appreciate as an option. I wore it from 1pm to 7pm and was so comfortable in all of it that I only took the tentacles off to show the last of the stragglers at the end of the party that they did, in fact, come off. They were so impressed lol. The dress is pretty cute without them, but the tentacle over-skirt is really what makes this costume so cool looking.

Instead of velcro’ing the dress and tentacle skirt back together, as they were with the costume arrived, I kept them separate, as it is much easier to get them back into the storage bag they came in with them apart.

Overall, I would recommend this costume, but I still think it is overpriced for the quality of the zipper, which can make a huge difference quality wise in any garment. It’s unnerving to think the zipper could break when your putting it on. Using a quality zipper in future manufacturing would make it worth the money.

I went with the sizing chart and noticed I should be a large by the inches they gave and the xl was so much larger according to their chart by inches. Well, when the large arrived it really was more like a small/medium. Size 12/14, I returned and re ordered the xl which is a 18/20 Not really sure where size 16 went but this size fits and def. has room for me to wear a corset or soemthing as it is a little bigger. Its for a party so bigger and more comfy is better!

Love it. Comes with instructions. Glitter does come off on the skin but not something too bad. Great quality, came really quickly.

The costume is exactly as pictured. Adorable! The fan batteries die quicker than I anticipated. It isn't a big deal, just plan on bringing replacement batteries.

I purchased the costume, high-end wig, and triton. Quality is excellent and it looks great! I'll have to take a picture when the make-up has been added. On a side-bar, I wish the corset had back elastic stretch panels, because I'm a medium in everything, but had to return it for a large. Huge shout-out to customer service who helped me return it and get a new one shipped out right away, when I couldn't figure out what the website was asking me to do. Will definitely shop here again!

I cannot wait to wear this to school on Halloween! I am a chubby woman and I ordered and XL, I’m glad I didn’t get the plus size! It fits well with room to move. The under dress is well made and I love that the inflatable tentacles have a pocket to hold the battery pack.

What a fun costume!! I did buy it big because my ‘girls’ are quite large so the overall costume is too big but I knew that would happen. The only bummer is that the cups are still too small and there is no real boning in the corset to help hold it up. Also….. watch the Velcro on the tentacle skirt - it catches on EVERYTHING else about this costume especially the mesh top that’s easy to snag. Just take your time getting everything on and, if you can, have an assistant to help. The tentacles themselves are great and have little buttons so you can have them long or button them up to shorten them. The fan is definitely audible but I’m okay with it. It’s still too much fun! I can’t wait for Halloween!!

The fan is in an odd place and there’s a wire poking at my boob constantly that I can’t remove or fix. The shirt is really see through too so be careful! Otherwise, it arrived early and was pretty comfortable.

This is undoubtedly the best Ursula costume on the market, from the waist down it is inflatable, which gives movement to the tentacles, the inflatable motor is small and is stored in a costume bag to hide it.

First off the sizing of this costume is all over the place. When you go the order the options are small, medium, large, etc. and the size chart has measurements. I measured and determined my size but when the package came there was a corresponding numerical size. I feel like that would be super helpful on the website, once I finally got the right size I was super excited to wear it. Go to put it on Halloween morning to wear to work (in a school) and the zipper broke! I had my husband pin me in and wore a cardigan so my back wouldn’t show. To make matters worse the zipper was so messed up there was no way for me to get out of it without literally being cut out.

The positive is the the costume design is super awesome. I got tons of compliments and felt like what I was wearing was unique.

I got SO many compliments on this costume. It's really a show-stopper and a bunch of people stopped me and wanted to take pictures with me. I was impressed with the quality of the costume. It looks just like the picture. It fit pretty tight in the bodice because I had just given birth a week before Halloween, and it took several people to get it zipped up in the back, but it stretched tight and stayed strong--never busted open. It felt super sturdy in the bodice--also very flattering. The fan worked great and wasn't really loud. I had it on during a small dinner party and no one could tell there was a fan running. I have nothing but great things to say about this costume and I'm super happy I bought it over some of the cheaper Ursula versions.

I wear a size 12, always. I ordered the size 12/14 and it was too small! It wouldn't close in back. The costume is absolutely amazing, just runs too small.

I am really happy with this purchase. I should have listened to the other reviews that said to size down. The XL measurements should have fit me perfectly, but it is slightly too big. I will use clips and tape to keep it in place.

The purple top is not connected it's a see through crop top. The black part is difficult to zip and gets caught every time.

The costume is great quality. But, it does run small. I followed the sizing guide and ordered a small. I wear a size 4. The dress portion of the costume was so snug I could not get it zipped. I then ordered a medium and had the same issue. I returned that one as well and went with a large. The large fits as far as being able to zip it but now it is too long.

The tentacle portion of the costume is awesome and I cannot wait to wear it on Halloween.

This costume runs small. Size up. The large states it’s for a person 5’7”-5’8” and 135-145lbs. At this height/weight you are surely not a large. The costume itself is ok quality for $100+ the expectation is pretty high the zipper is pretty hard to manage Bc it’s very small. I went all out with makeup and hair along with the costume and got lots of compliments though.

THIS COSTUME IS AWESOME! So well made and i love the tentacles and how big they get. The shirt is great and the whole outfit is high quality.

I can't wait to wear this! I typically wear a small but didn't want to pay the extra for that size so i went with a medium and crossed my fingers. So glad I did! It fits Perfectly! I will definitely recommend this. Happy Halloween!

When I went to put on the costume, there was a broken zipper! In order for me to wear it, I had to close the dress using safety pins. I was away on vacation so I had no other choice. Then to make matters worse, one of the buttons that hold one of the tentacles popped off within 15 minutes of putting it on. So now, a tentacle just hangs there.

This costume gives me all the feels! It's a little on the bigger size but that allows for a little padding to fill out all the curves! I can't wait for all the Halloween parties this year and years to come!

This dress would be pretty cool, if we could get the tentacles to inflate properly. When we took it out of the package, a plastic piece fell out of the overskirt. We tried everything and couldn't get it to inflate. I don't really see how a fan would do that anyway. We're going to try an air mattress or bicycle pump or lightweight stuffing. I did appreciate that it was easy to take it in to make it smaller, which is good because it wasn't available in the size we needed.

I loved this costume!!! It was beyond amazing. It was comfortable and so much fun! It was obviously a bit difficult to navigate through narrow spaces, but, it didn't matter. This was the best costume I've ever had! My only problem is trying to top it for next Halloween.

This costume is amazing. The details are great, and there is no misunderstanding of who you're trying to be. I received many compliments while wearing it. I ordered the size L based on the size chart, and it is larger than I would like. I will be altering the dress top, so that it doesn't slide down and adding some Velcro to help the half shirt stay tucked. I'm uncertain if the size M would have been too small. I'd rather get bigger and have to alter slightly than risk it not fitting. Great costume. Runs big.

I ordered a size large. the measurements on the chart were my measurements. When I got the costume the package said 12/14. I am a ten. I could not get the costume on. The shirt is only a half shirt and it rides up. I had to add fabric to the back and put Velcro on the shirt and inside of costume to keep it tucked in.

I LOVE this costume. Buy the size you normally wear in shirts. I went by the sizing chart and ended up getting an XL instead of my usual L - but it was a little too big and too long. Right now the L is sold out so I'll have to do some altering to make it fit perfect. Luckily the blow up portion is GREAT!
