Diner Dude Costume
Have you always dreamed of being a Diner Dude? There’s something about those white caps and striped aprons that gets you excited about life. You’ve always wanted to serve up fresh fries and strawberry malts, while crooners like Frank Sinatra float out of the jukebox in the background. You know what it means to whip up an “Adam and Eve on a raft” and what the cook means when he asks for more axle grease. If you got the chance to strap on some roller skates and glide over to your latest customer, you’d be in Fat City.
The only problem with this dream is how few authentic 1950s diners there are still in existence. There just isn’t a call for waiters who know how to roller skate and also know the lyrics to every Buddy Holly song ever recorded. Besides, it’s hard to live off tips, and it isn’t as easy as it looks to carry a full platter of meals while on roller skates. Plus, your parents would kill you if they paid your way through college only for you to throw away that engineering degree to work at a diner. Maybe working as a Diner Dude isn’t the best career option after all.
Maybe you’re not called to be a Diner Dude—but you can still live vicariously through this Diner Dude costume. It’s all the fun without any of the complaining customers, grease burns, skinned knees or malt stains. The costume comes with a red-and-white striped apron complete with neck loop and waist ties, a white hat with red ribbon edging, a satin bowtie on a ribbon band that fastens with Velcro, and a metal pin badge for extra pop. You’ll be the bees’ knees in this costume!
