The Banality of Evil Art Series

Evil is the ideal, but life is long and doesn’t always go as planned. It comes with inherent banality; the boredom that fills those long hours in between the next devious plot, slashing, or scare. We’ve all been stuck at the grocery store after working a ten hour night shift and had to wait in line behind the coupon lady as she meticulously counts each penny. We’ve all had to go to our nephew’s birthday party and make small talk when just hours before we took out an entire spaceship full of soldiers with nothing but our face-hugging hatchlings and a little mouth acid. Cereal-Killers-HEADER.jpg

Classic horror monsters turned cereal mascots, General Mills introduced Count Chocula and Franken Berry back in 1971, followed by Boo-Berry, Fruit Brute, and Fruity Yummy Mummy. We just know that the new TV series starring Bruce himself will be a perfect addition to the franchise canon. Armed with a boomstick, a chainsaw, and a gallon of fake blood, we set out to create a sexy, girl costume version of Ash, our hero.

Scary-Snapchat-Header.jpg

Ten years ago, selfie wasn’t a word in our current vernacular. With time and technology updates, selfies have become prominent on social media and the internet in general. So, it’s only fitting that Snapchat’s most recent updated changed the selfie game by adding lenses. For those of you who haven’t gotten the update yet, what are you waiting for? The new selfie lenses come in a variety of styles and are swapped out on a daily basis. On the first day of the update release, we were introduced to a few favorites including the big eyes, puking rainbow, horror mask, and even the old person lens. Many Snapchat users were disappointed to learn that they weren’t a permanent part of the app. Never fear, the puking rainbow is back…in Halloween spirit, that is!

We'd say that horror and beauty go together pretty easily after seeing these skater dresses that our graphic design department created. Inspired by classic horror films from vintage Hollywood, we made seven mock-ups of dresses that we’d LOVE to see become reality! Or maybe you’d like to hit the town with a skirt that looks like Frankenstein’s monster’s stitched-together skin! Imagine the accessories! A coffin purse to go with Dracula or a fur stole to go with the Wolf Man. So cute. Take a look at all of our creations and see if you spot your favorite scary movie in the collection.
